Give it a try. It's a good product.
The wax works really well. Heat the wax with a propane torch to soften it up and apply it with a small brush. It goes on well. But I would recommend gloves because it is sticky. My grafts for this year are sprouting out and doing well. I will by it again if I run out.

Prevents desiccation of the tender graft surfaces
Seals in moisture, seals out insect pests. This is a tried and true product for orchard grafting in a convenient, work apron size package

Had to use a blow torch to open the container.
I think that my can was a return - maybe returnee attempted and failed to use. The can was rather dented too. The contents were all over the inside of the lid. My hubby and myself failed to open it. My son took that as a challange and opened it using a blow torch. To melt it I needed to used an almost boiling water bath and it took quite awhile and never fully melted. I wore latex gloves and used a paint stirrer to apply it to my Japanese Maple tree. I used the entire can. Then I wrapped my tree in tree wrap and sprayed the tree with Malathian to kill the bugs that are taking up residence under the bark. I removed the loose bark first.

Still the best!
Sticky as can be, use gloves. Still the best there is! Best wound sealer for woody plants too. No tar or petrolium.

Clumpy or Gooey
As I propagate plants all the time I was excited to get this wax as I was hoping to make my life easier. Unfortunately, it is hard as rock in places and quite soft in others. I tried to blend but very difficult to do so and once it gets on you gloves you are stuck with it. Also, it never really dries or hardens once applied. I usually use bees wax from my hives so I am not sure if it is suppose to harden at any point. Difficult to work with and you have to be extremely careful once applied as it will be everywhere you don't want it.

Easy to use
I put the can in hot water for about 5 minutes, it works great, I’ll let you know if my sweet cherry trees grow from a sour cherry tree after grafting

Works fine.
It works and it was much easier to apply than I was led to believe after reading other reviews. It's the only brand I have used so I withheld the 5th star Because I cannot compare it.
