Great Spray Paint
I absolutely love both the Montana Gold and Montana Black spray paints. They deliver great results and vibrant colors. However, I do recommend using different nozzles than the ones that come with the cans to avoid any issues with overspray or streaking.

Bad can of paint!! And no way to get help!! Don't buy this!
The media could not be loaded. Can't get it to spray, took forever to get it and its defective!!This one, unlike the other cans has a new safety washer that has to be removed, not a little plastic piece, its a rubber washer under the cap.

Absolutely the worst paint I’ve ever used
Can is nice looking but immediately went to shake and then spray and as I was spraying the can started to drip uncontrollably all over the place DO NOT BUY.. if I could give 0 I would

Great Paint, no problems
This paint is great...No runs on the can, no issues spraying after removing the little spacer ring under the spray nozzle. The paint went on smoothly and covered nicely. I am happy with the paint.

Montana Black Spray Paint: When High Pressure Meets High Expectations
As a commercial photographer, I've spent years coating my sets with house paint and rollers. For a recent project requiring pristine surfaces, I ventured into the world of spray paint. My sculpture teacher's warning echoed in my mind: "Spraypaint always seems like a good idea until you do it."Spoiler alert: He was right.THE MONTANA UNIVERSEFor the uninitiated, art store spray paint shelves feature three main Montana lines: Montana Gold, Montana Black, and MTN 94. After extensive research, I convinced myself that Montana Black was perfect. High pressure for quick coverage, rapid drying time, and a matte finish that wouldn't create reflections on my photography sets.To be clear - "Black" is just the product line name, not the color. I chose "Jaws" - a yellowy green-tinted off-white that cost about $11 per can. Not exactly bargain bin, but professional results require professional tools, right?THE FIELD TESTArmed with my fancy paint and some 4'x4' boards plus prop boxes, I headed outside on a slightly warm, windy day. I moved the can quickly to maintain smooth, even passes. What happened next was less "professional photographer upgrades equipment" and more "toddler discovers sand art."THE UNEXPECTED TEXTURE✓ PROS- Dries with supernatural speed even in cold temperatures- High-pressure delivery means coverage faster than gossip in a small town- Matte finish with zero light reflection (perfect for photography)- Consistent color in the "Jaws" shade- Solid can design with 400ml capacity× CONS- Dries SO fast it creates a sandy, grainy finish (visible in the photos)- High pressure creates "offspray" that doesn't land with its paint buddies- The dreaded "hot spot" effect when you don't move quickly enough- Indoor touch-ups become noticeable patches rather than blending in- Price of $11 per can makes mistakes costlyTHE TECHNICAL BREAKDOWNThe Montana Black formula has two characteristics that worked against my plans. First, it dries faster than a teenager ending an awkward conversation - so fast that the paint actually dries before fully reaching the surface. Second, the high-pressure can generates more "offspray" than a garden sprinkler, resulting in a grainy finish. When I noticed a "hot spot" (where I must have slowed my hand movement), I tried an indoor touch-up. This made things worse, creating a spot so obvious it might as well have had neon arrows pointing to it. The outdoor temperature and wind were clearly significant factors. These cans require more precise technique than brain surgery.MTN 94: THE UNEXPECTED HEROIn a plot twist worthy of a paint-themed romantic comedy, MTN 94 didn't have these texture issues nearly as much. The slower drying time allowed the paint to properly land and settle before drying. While not my initial choice, MTN 94 unexpectedly delivered the more matte, smooth finish I was actually seeking.PERFECT FOR:- Large-scale wall murals where texture is less critical- Projects where extremely fast drying time is the priority- Outdoor graffiti or street art where working quickly matters- Applications where a slight texture won't impact the final result- People who enjoy being humbled by aerosol cansNOT IDEAL FOR:- Fine art projects requiring perfectly smooth finishes- Photography backdrops where surface quality is crucial- Detailed work requiring precise edge control- Indoor applications with limited ventilation- Anyone whose therapist has noted "perfectionist tendencies"PROJECT NOTES- I used Bullseye 1-2-3 spray primer and sanded between coats on MDF- The color was "Jaws" - a yellowy green-tinted off-white in a 400ml can- The two paint lines (Black vs. MTN 94) offer completely different color selections with little overlapTHE VERDICTMontana Black excels at what it's designed for – quick, high-coverage applications where speed matters more than a glass-smooth finish. For serious mural artists working on walls, this high-pressure formula makes perfect sense. For more controlled art projects where surface quality is paramount, I'd recommend the slower-drying, lower-pressure MTN 94 line. The slight tradeoff in drying time is worth it for the superior finish quality.Sometimes the right tool isn't the one with the most impressive specs, but the one that delivers the results you actually need. In the spray paint dating game, Montana Black is that flashy date with great looks but questionable relationship material, while MTN 94 is the reliable partner who actually helps you move furniture.

Follow the Directions
Here's something that's quite interesting: If you bother to look at the pictures in the listing (of which there's only like 3, so wow what a big ask), or read the can - which obviously reviewers are incapable of doing - you'll know that THERE'S A SAFETY SEAL THAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED in order for the can to work properly. If you're getting spray all down the side of the can, you deserve it, because you didn't follow the LITERAL 1 DIRECTION that's required.Mini-rant aside - it does exactly what it's supposed to, and there's a reason the Montana brand has been so highly recommended. For what it's worth, I spray on wood craft products. Layered signs and the like. Works perfectly for that, can't comment on actual graffiti work or metal or anything else. But it's phenomenal. My new go-to brand.
