A captivating seductive read
Never again will I be the clay that he molds in his hold. I'm going to shape myself. This was my most anticipated read of May and boy it doesn't disappoint. Picking up from where it left off in Glint, this book held me throughout. We get to see a different side of Auren where after sh reunites with Midas and comes to realize his true personality tries to fight him off to the best of her ability. This battle unlike being warfare is a battle of wits which instantly makes it different from other fantasy novels. Auren coming into her own is learning by the day and from her mistakes to outmaneuver her captor. She fumbles most times which can get on your nerves but at the same time reminds you that she is just realizing her potential and can be in over her head.Rip or King Ravinger is an enjoyable character though I would have liked more interactions between him and the other character rather than just the FMC.Raven Kennedy has done a brilliant job with this installment as well though sometime the metaphors in the mental monologue get too much and difficult to differentiate from what's really happening. The chemistry between the lead pair is sizzling with beauty and depth complemented by the endearing banter. The climax of the story was unexpected and makes you really feel for Auren. My favourite part in the entire book are the ribbons that just keeps you grinning especially in the interactions amThe reason I reduced a star is because the change in POV's were distracting and takes away the intensity of the storyline but knowing the author I believe those characters may have a crucial role to play in the next book. Now anxiously waiting for Glow

This book spoiled the whole series for me!
Well I am disappointed! I mean it could have been so much better. This book seriously spoiled the whole series for me. (First 2 books were 5-star reads for me!)Auren makes a decision to return back to King Midas. But she soon realizes that she is still being treated as a prisoner and something to be used. Nevertheless, King Midas finds another way to imprison her and blackmail her. Meanwhile, Auren is shocked and feels betrayed when she comes to know that Commander Rip is in fact King Ravinger. Deeply upset she decides just to free herself from the clutches of Midas and go far away. However, with her feelings for Rip getting stronger day by day and with things becoming more and more difficult with Midas she feels trapped and finds herself struggling at both ends. The only thing that I liked in the book was the chemistry between Auren and Rip. However, I simply could not understand why Auren continued allowing Midas to abuse her. I mean if you compare Auren from this book with the first one she has come a long way. She is finally able to see Midas for what he really is. But still, she suffers under his hand. Really what the hell! I felt that the promise of defiance and anger in the second book was not fulfilled. And where the hell was Rip? Seriously, I am at a loss to understand how such a strong and powerful character can be or rather cannot be visible in more than half of the book! The story was engrossing, I will give you that, but I felt I was just waiting for something to happen throughout the book - not more pain and helplessness. I am not interested in picking up the fourth book in the series at least as of now. Who knows if this saga of pain and frustration will be carried forward in the next book?

I cannot get over this book! it was so good
This book was the best of all and it was written so well I literally highlighted almost every page. Even if it would have sucked, the moments between Slade and Auren would have made up for it. I laughed so much in this book and cried a little and loved it a lot. It made me so happy to read about Slade and Auren that I wanted to cry every time they were together. They were so good. And we finally get Slade’s POV in this book and he’s officially my favourite book boyfriend. It’s 2:15 in the morning and I just finished reading it. I am writing this just so I can get over it and be able to sleep but I can already feel a book hangover coming over. 2022 cannot get here soon enough. That’s when the next book in this series “Glow” releases.

When everything comes together
Gleam is Book 3 in Raven’s 18+ Dark Fantasy The Plated Prisoner. Previous books must be read first. This one ends on a cliffhanger. This book is everything the first two books built up too. There is even more tension than the last one.🌶️ It happens!! After the slow burn of the first two books (and about 1/2 of this one) Auren gets to see stars. And after all that tension, it was spectacular. This doesn’t mean it continues constantly. It’s all about the tension y’all.🌎 This one takes place solely in the Fifth Kingdom. About the first 50% continues with extreme build up, with the last bit bringing to a close things from the first two books. Gleam will hit all the feels. After the build up to this point, things hit the fan. Truths are told. Revelations are had. Twists you didn’t even know you were supposed to look for happen. Auren straightens her spine and heartbreak entails.Listen. This one had me bawling. Like put the book down, I can’t see crying. While an incident in Gild brought me to tears, this book broke me. Aurens emotions are raw and Raven’s writing captures them in a way that has you feeling the crushing hurt.👥 This book is full of surprises. I won’t get into them because spoilers, but know we learn SO MUCH about SO MANY of Characters. Chapter POVs include Midas, Auren, Commander Rip, and Queen Malina⚠️ Please check warnings! This book is 18+ and does deal with mature and dark themes.

Automatic Favorite Series
I think that I have finally had enough time to digest this book and think about all of the ways it made me feel. But I also don't know that there will ever be enough time for me to fully recover from this book...at least not until the last book is published.Raven Kennedy is a queen. Simply put, she has creating one of the most beautiful and heart-wrenching stories that I have ever experienced. And it was an experience, not just a read. This book brought me so high and tore me down to the lowest of lows. There were times when I laughed, cried, and nearly broke my phone in rage and terror. Love, mystery, angst, pain, beauty, transformation, secrets, manipulation, magic, death, life. So many things fit into this beautiful story that has me unable to read anything else.If you took away the phenomenal writing and storytelling that Raven Kennedy has put into this book and it was simply just the bare bones of the plot....this story would still be amazing. But the fact that her writing is some of the most captivating, soul-clenching writing I have ever read makes this book all the better. Not only does Raven tell what's happening in the lives of everyone in this book, but I feel as though I am there, enduring every emotion with Auren. When she smiled, I smiled. When she laughed, I laughed. And boy when she was hurt...I WAS HURT. I felt physical pain reading this book because of the rollercoaster it took me on.The most beautiful thing about this book is the development of each character that we get to see. Auren's journey is such a privilege to get to read about because it is so realistic. Her growth as a person is so evident and it makes sense. It isn't too fast or too slow and I never found it to be unrealistic or silly. The same goes for the other characters, even though we see their perspective less. And I will just have to say....Slade is the ultimate book boyfriend and he has now topped all other fictional men. I won't change my mind.Raven has blessed us with this masterpiece and I truly hope that it's fame and recognition continues to grow because it is spectacular.

Excellent ending to this book
Yes it was a long book, but it was in no way boring. It built on the storyline of the previous books and developed the characters so nicely that in a way I didn't want it to end.I look forward to the next book.
