This should not matter to most users, but the stencils pictured were on black plastic and those I received were white.In normal use this doesn't matter - only the cutout portion is used.I purchased these for a photography project where I needed the black plastic because the stencils themselves would initially be a part of the image. I selected this brand because they were pictured as black.I was able to purchase paint and paint each piece on one side to meet my requirements.
