Yes. This "charger" sucks for charging. It works well for mounting the phone. Just useless to charge wirelessly

It is always on during charging and when initially plugging the charger into a power source. If no phone is attached, the light will turn off after 5 seconds. When a phone is taken off of the charging pad, the light will also turn off after 5 seconds.
