so much better than watering by hand
Our landscape contractor recommended these as the best way to water our newly planted trees. We went with the original rather than cheaper knockoffs and it is apparent that these are very sturdy and well made, and come with good directions. Fill it once or twice per week and you're done.

We have the largest Oak in the neighborhood
These are great for trees that need more water. We have a very narrow parkway, and the newly planted oaks were not getting enough water for growth. I have had my original one for 4 years. We just bought 4 more as the tree trunk grew. We zip 3 together and it works great! A neighbor stopped me yesterday and asked what we did for our oak. Water!! So easy to use. As water level gets low, we rotate and it drains completely. We di not experience excessive runoff. If it is slow, it doesn't affect us. We fill in morning and then take down in afternoon. I am not sure how long it took to drain

These worked great for my new trees. No worrying about watering. Just fill the bags once or twice a week and your trees will be healthy.

Treegators Work, But...
First of all, item is as described, promptly shipped. Seller is AA.However, I wish it were possible to buy 2, 3 or 4 (or more). I really needed 4, so a 3-pak was awkward for me. Also, I was disappointed to discover that the Treegator only trickles along one part of its lower edge so that it effectively waters only one side of the tree. Not what I was hoping for...

Very nice
Our park department uses these on new trees in my city. They did just as I hoped it would, no leaking and stood up without knocking over the new trees. I wasted my money on another product and it sprung a leak and emptied way too fast. This one lasts for a couple of days to empty.

Don't settle for cheaper knock-offs
I have now tried four different brands of watering bags. Last year I purchased three brands that were much cheaper than tree gators. All of them developed holes or excessive leaks and were unusable by the end of the growing season. So I just decided that watering bags are intended to last one season and then be discarded. This year I ordered 3 Tree Gators even though they were significantly more expensive. Immediately I noticed they were much better constructed of heavier grade material. Now, 2/3 of the way through the season, they continue to work flawlessly. All three of them. I will easily get a second season out of them next year. And who knows beyond that. So, they really only cost me half what I paid for them compared to the single-season cheaper brands. I will only buy Tree Gators going forward. They are cheaper than knock-offs over the life of each brand.

These are worth the price!
I wasn't sure I wanted to pay the higher price for these Treegators, but after one summer, I am so glad I did! I had some newly planted trees that of course needed more watering than it would get without these. I started filling them 3x per week, then after a few weeks, went down to 2 days for most of the summer. They are easy to put on the tree, and easy to fill up. They are such good quality, that they stand up on their own, even after all the water has been absorbed. I would guess maybe they took about 5-6 hours to drain. There was one bag that I just couldn't get situated correctly to drain right, so I just took an ice pick and added in another hole, which is about the size that the holes are from the factory. Then there was no issue. I'm very happy with their performance this first year. I am sure they will be fine next summer, too. I will take them off the trees for the winter months. It's very important to get these for newly planted trees. These are worth it!

The watering bag that works.
May not be as cheap as some others, but these are durable and should last a few seasons. They really are very helpful when planting or moving saplings.
