Good can tap for the little ac cans
Does what it needs to. Screws right onto the little cans you buy at Walmart to charge up the ac. My only complaint is the small green gasket is starting to rip up where it screws onto the cans. It’s not leaking yet but not sure how long it will hold up. This is after 4 uses. Just something to keep in mind. Overall I’d buy it again it works and wasn’t too much.

I think it's a keeper! Works great on self sealing can, and adapts to other fittings well
I purchased this in conjunction with a popular R12 refill / gauge and puncture type can fitting setup to use with a self sealing can of R134a to refill a fridge that was low on charge. I also purchased one of those blue screw on adapters, thinking that if that one worked, I would return this one unused. Well, come to find out, blue screw on didnt work, and everyone is complaining that the sealing washer in it is too thick, and some even cut the washer by 1/2 thickness or more before it worked. I returned the blue piece of non-working plastic, and attached this valve to the hose fitting for the can, screwed the can onto this one, and lo and behold it worked fine! You do have to figure out what depth to turn the plunger down to though ,too far and it restricts freon, and too little and it doesn't open the seal on the can, but it's a much more confidence inspiring device than the plastic adapter, and works perfectly, IMO.

Not Reliable
I purchased this tap twice, the first time I purchased it, it was several years ago when I lived up north. At the time, the tap worked out well, I wasn't doing too much AC work, I only used it a few times and during the few times I used it, it worked well. Fast forward a few years and I have another AC job to do, so I pull out the tap and I realize it isn't working. I figured something must have happened during the few years I wasn't using it, so I just decided to purchase another one since it's marked at a very fair price and it worked well before.I get the second tap and I used it once. Worked fantastic! I stored it knowing that I'll probably use it again later in the year on another vehicle with a known AC problem. I ended up using it again today, and it did not work. After carefully inspecting the pin to push down down the self sealing can's shrader valve, it appears that it doesn't push down all the way on some cans. The pin just barely sticks out when fully turned in.At this point, I can't really recommend this tap anymore, simply for the reason that it isn't reliable. Chances are the pin has slightly bent, and most likely that's what happened with the original tap I had too after using it a few times. I don't see this as a tap that you can keep in your toolbox for a long time.

Made well, but not compatible w canisters
Unfortunately, I wasted a whole day with one of these through six different cans of R134 refrigerant. The plunger comes down At an angle and does not penetrate the Rubber gasket on the self ceiling cans. Anyway, I was lucky to get my money back at the O'Reilly auto parts, For the compromised cans, still have full with refrigerant and just took my vehicle to an AC professional
