I have two road bikes and one hybrid. I purchased two roadie clugs to try out for my two road bikes. The first clug snapped in half on the second use. I contacted Hornit directly and they offered to send another which was nice but the second clug snapped in half and just popped my road bike's tire. Safe to say I would not suggest this product. My tire is a 28mm so it should easily fit.

These mounts are great if you want to store heavier bikes. The typical wall mount or stands are great for lighter bikes. But lifting heavier bikes can be cumbersome, and it is easy to knock over bikes on a stand. These are a great alternative if you want a bike mount with a minimal footprint.

This small product is a tremendous addition to my gear organization. Well packaged and easy to install, I can now secure my bike in a few simple steps. If using on a wall, I would recommend a strip or two of protective material to prevent marking the wall by the tires.

I have 3 styles of these road, hybrid (for gravel) and MTB. They are awesome, a bit pricey but so much easier than other bike storage methods. The pro version address the risk of tire deflation and the bike falling out of the clug.

Highly recommended bike mount that simple, reliable and low cost. I'm glad I bought the Pro version because the weight of my e-bike creates quite a pull on the Clug, so I like the Pro's extra security. Each size covers a wide range and I feared that would mean the fit is looser than ideal because my tyres are at the bottom of the MTB XL range. However, I needn't have worried. I did also wonder if I needed the MTB size. My tyres are 2.35" / 60mm, so I should need MTB XL but the manufacturer advises: "DOES THE STATED SIZE ON YOUR TYRE FALL BETWEEN 57-61MM (2.3-2.4”)? If your tyre indicates it is in this range then it is best to go for the CLUG mtb." I tried the MTB and MTB XL but the latter was far too small / tight. I suspect the plastic would break with time. But as Hornit says, the key thing is the tyre's actual width rather than the number printed on them. Before mounting the Clug on the wall, I checked it on my bike's tyre and thought it would be too loose. But, if storing your bike resting on its rear tyre and the front tyre raised, the key thing is to mount the Clug on the wall above the axle's centreline. That means the Clug grips the tyre rather than the rim. The instructions say to mount it 10-12.5cm above the axle while Hornit's YouTube video says 7.5cm. The latter would have been too low for me and I found 12cm worked well. I recommend having someone help when fitting the Clug and test what height works best. I suspect it varies depending on the size of tyre vs Clug. Once the height was decided, it was very easy to fit and holds the bike securely. The Pro's strap not only prevents the bike from falling backwards (if stored vertically) but also brings the Clug's sides together so it grips the tyre more tightly. That latter effect is very useful if the tyre is at the bottom of the Clug's size range.
