Bear in mind, though, that the book is mortuary - only in topic however, not in atmosphere. Doctor Shepherd turns out to be a good writer and he's very tactful when it comes to morbid details. I'm glad I've read "The Seven Ages of Death". As I'm more of an autobiography person, I enjoyed "Unnatural Causes" a lot more, but here, I found much interesting information which complemented my knowledge. I’ve read both books now and didn’t want them to end. So interesting to hear about Dr. Shepherd’s work throughout the last four decades. Both books were full of amazing anatomical facts but written in such an accessible way as to educate and inform the reader.
