There are conflicting reviews regarding if if these plush animals are still shrink wrapped. Product description states both. Which is it?

Mine was shrink wrapped to flatten it. In my review I recommend taking it out of plastic days before you give as a gift because it takes a long time to puff up. My granddaughter loves it and made up games to play with it.

Does this item have a metal zipper?

No zipper - no opening or pouch on the larger one for the "kittens."

Can the cat carry the kittens in her belly?

No, Mama cat cannot carry the kittens in her belly. The Mama cat has magnets disguised as nipples and the kittens also have hidden magnets in their noses so they can actually “attach” to the Mama’s milk bar. Magnets are not exposed so they should be safe from being picked off and injested by little humans.
