Tiffen 67UVP 67mm UV Protection Filter: A Great Choice for Lens Protection
I've been using the Tiffen 67UVP 67mm UV Protection Filter for a few months now, and I'm really impressed with it. Here's why I think it's a great choice for anyone looking for a lens protector: Protection First and Foremost The primary function of a UV filter is to shield your valuable camera lens from scratches, dust, and fingerprints. The Tiffen 67UVP does this admirably. It's well-built with a scratch-resistant surface and a tight-fitting metal ring that minimizes the chance of the filter falling off accidentally. Double Duty: UV Protection and Clear Images While the UV protection is a bonus, the filter doesn't affect the image quality in any noticeable way. There's no color cast or softening, and it doesn't introduce any vignetting (dark corners) even on wide-angle lenses. This makes it a great option for keeping on your lens at all times for peace of mind. Affordable Protection Tiffen UV filters are known for being well-priced, and the 67UVP is no exception. For around $10 to $20, you're getting a high-quality filter from a reputable brand that will last for years. Overall, I highly recommend the Tiffen 67UVP 67mm UV Protection Filter. It's an affordable way to safeguard your investment and keep your lens looking its best. Here are some additional points to consider: Some photographers argue that UV filters can very slightly reduce image quality. In my experience, this is negligible and far outweighed by the protection benefits. If you're mostly shooting indoors or in good lighting conditions, a UV filter may not be necessary. However, it's still a good idea to have one on hand for situations where dust or scratches are a concern.

Good Protection and First Camera Accessory I Purchased
I purchased this filter first to protect my camera lens. Upon receiving my new camera I waited until this filter arrived before I would take the camera off my desk and go outside or anywhere else. Buy something like this and install in front of your valuable lens. Accordingly my camera lens is still in new, pristine condition after the first year of light to moderate use.

Great Price
Very good price, to protect your lens, at a great price. I didn't have a 52mm filter, so had to order this, to protect an expensive 52mm lens. Images are crisp and no glare, enhances your photos.

Quality Lens Protection and Decent UV Filtration for Your SLR Camera
You spent a lot of money for your SLR or digital SLR camera, and then you plunked down another large chunk of cash for a quality lens. Do you really want to blow another heavy chunk of change for a basic, thread on UV filter? Well, I would normally advise that you don't skimp on quality when it comes to filters. After all, would you pay a premium price for a high performance automobile, only to fill it with watered down fuel? I should nope not! So is it such a bright idea to buy such a low cost UV filter for your high-end SLR lens? Well, maybe it is if you are considering the Tiffen 77mm UV Protection Filter. This filter does NOT offer the highest level of UV filtration, but it is rather sufficient for most conditions, and the build quality and materials used in this filter are very good. For most digital SLR users, a UV filter is a must have for protecting your lens optics, and it helps to clear up the hazy and washed out look in many of your outdoor photos. This filter has proven to clean up many of my digital photographs, and I have found almost no internal reflection artifacts. Notice I said ALMOST no internal reflection. I leave my UV filters on all of my lenses almost all of the time, and this filter has produced some minor reflection when shooting indoor photos with my Sigma 10-20mm ultra-wide angle lens. This seems to only happen when shooting in dim lighting conditions, and when aiming the lens in the direction of a strong light source, such as a table lamp. Since my Canon EOS 40D has a "Live View" feature that lets me see what the picture is going to look like (displayed on the 3" LCD), I can see the reflection artifacts before I shoot the picture, and therefore have found ways to reframe my shots to avoid the reflections. However, I recommend that you simply remove the UV filter when shooting in these conditions. As I said before, I typically do not recommend buying low cost filters for your high quality lenses, but I prefer to invest my money on creative filters and not pour too much into a filter that is primarily used to simply protect the front of the lens. Many manufacturers, including Tiffen, offer higher quality UV/Haze filters for SLR lenses, and you may wish to spend the extra money if you are looking for deeper UV removal from your pictures. However, if you are looking for great lens protection and a decent level of UV filtration for a modest investment, you honestly can't go wrong with this filter. Just remember to remove the filter, or frame your shots carefully when shooting in situations where direct light reflection may be an issue. These are essential to street photographers
This filter comes at a fair price and is an essential item for photographers who travel. UV filters don't affect your photos, but protect your expensive lenses and camera sensors from damage when shooting outdoors. It's much easier to replace an $8 filter than a $300 lens. This filter works with the lens cap that came with the lens, but double check the diameter of your lens, as one size does not fit all. I already have a bunch of filters, but my newest lens requires a slightly smaller filter, which is why I purchased this item.

What your camera lens needs
Having bought a lens for my digital SLR, a filter like this is essential for peace of mind. It mainly serves to protect the front lens element from dirt, fingerprints, and potential damage. Considering that, it's a cheap precaution.

I had a Hoya 1B HMC Skylight before, which broke over a pebble and saved my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 (on a Canon 40D house) when I dropped the bag (a Soligor Classic Line, size M) from about 1m / 3.5ft. I decided on this filter mainly for the cost savings compared to a Hoya or Dörr etc, and am very pleased. I'm not a pro photographer, and use this filter mostly indoors (as mentioned above, it sits on the front of a 30mm f/1.4), so UV influx is rarely a problem anyway. That said, I haven't noticed any bad influence at all of this filter on the picture quality I get, and the fit (thread size and cap compatibility) is great and build quality seems all good so I'm a happy sailor.

I usually buy Tiffin lens filters. I like the company and the quality of the filters. I have a few different kinds of filters from Tiffin for different cameras. I would say you have a good filter and can trust this company for its consistant quality.
