The Librarian of Crooked Lane (The Glass Library Book 1)

Thoroughly enjoyable read.

I was disappointed to find that this was linked with the Glass and Steele books and even more disappointed to find that the story was just the same only a generation younger. I had really been looking forward to a completely different series.That said, I really enjoy the Glass & Steele books and whilst I'm finding Willie grating and Sylvia's constant claims that she never needs to see Gabe again, even though he is employing her, annoying, I found myself really enjoying the book. So much so, that I finished it in a day.I now find myself frustrated at the wait for the sequel to come out.All in all, it's a great start to a new series, I just wish write up had been more honest and declared the strong connections with the previous series. I would still have bought it but i would have given it five stars instead of four.

I fell in love with the previous series and have been slowly buying them. This one didn’t capture me quite as quickly but I feel like the author is setting the scene and leading up to something big. A few twists and surprises in the story as well. Looking forward to the next one

I liked the period and the concept of magic being tied to specific materials. While the basic mystery of art thefts was solved, the mysteries of Gabe’s survival and why Sylvia knows nothing of her family history (and probably has an assumed name courtesy of her mother), are being established.I look forward to discovering how the series develops. The author’s style is pleasant, and I hope that the next novel will be released soon.

Loved all the Glass & Steele collection also all the characters. It was sad then the books finished. Now their son is following in his parents footsteps & helping police. Would love to have more of how his family were doing. Who was Willie's husband's & how did they die? Can't wait for the next book to hear how Gabe & Silvia get involved with the next mystery and also see how their love blossoms just like it did with Glebe parents when they worked together.

Loved this book but cannot afford the price hike for any others. Such a shame publishers do this.

A shame it finished, felt that a couple more chapters would have been a good thing. Worth starting the whole series.

Another Great Series
