Using Young Living essential oils for many years, it's good to know some of the history and chemistry behind these precious healing oils. Dr David Stewart was a very wise and knowledgeable man in this subject. A friend of mine was lucky enough to meet him at a YL convention.

I have yet to find any book written in English that can replace the exhaustive scientific information available on essential oils in this one. The size of this book may prove formidable to some. If you hated chemistry in school, you may find the scientific chapters breaking down each essential oil's properties tedious. However, the writer is a talented educator and interjects not only appropriate humor but fascinating lore into every paragraph. There are basic chapters on techniques and useage of essential oils, primarily in theory form, but not "recipes" or treatments for specific ailments. The book is prefaced by thorough reviews of most of the competently written, available books on the subject. I would have preferred this material at the back of the book as reference material in order to jump right into the subject. You may wish to take note of that fact and move past those reviews initially. Anyone who intends a thorough understanding of essential oils and essential oil useage MUST read this book as it is a virtual college education on the subject in a manual. Laymen practitioners should read, own and periodically review this book to remain competent in practice. This book is the Merck manual PLUS of Essential Oils, IMHO.

Having already read Essential Oils Desk Reference, I was ready for more in-depth information on how essential oils work. I found it in this amazing work by David Stewart, and it was totally entertaining and educating at the same time. I had some good Chemistry background, but he explained things so well, that one needn't have that as a pre-requisite. His perspective was one that I share, which is an understanding that God created all things, and with science, we are using only one of the tools that we have available to us to find out how natural laws work.I couldn't recommend this book more highly. If you are going to use essential oils (and I urge you to if you are not already!), this is an absolute must-read. You will come away with both your faith and your knowledge increased. Love everything about this book. Dr David a Stewart is one of my most FAVE teachers/writers and Dr. This book is filled w biblical content, tables & more!! Be sure to watch the doctors lectures and videos on You Tube. His teaching on essentials oils is really the best.

One of the best books I've ever read......In fact, after completing this book, I've redirected my life.... I'm currently completing my Cert. Aromatherapist course and plan on continuing to a French Internal Aromatherapy course....The MAIN reason I wanted to write is to say , "Thank You from my hearth".... I have Lyme disease and had several oils for over a year and felt they wouldn't work and that the oil 'thing' was just a money plot.....I was SO SO WRONG and I am grateful to you for writing this book, which has opened my mind and spirit to have FAITH in GOD's Farmacy.. Thanks to you, I'm finally seeing great progress in my healing from Lyme after 2 years of PICC line and antibiotics......I take nothing now but the oil protocols.....Blessings....<3

This reference is thorough and wonderful! All the chemistry is easily understandable, and the charts and graphs on essential oils from young living are worth the price of the book alone, not to mention the approach the author takes to teaching basic chemistry (easy to follow, especially for non-students).I can't describe enough the value of this book, it is far beyond it's purchase price, and amazon offers a great deal too! This book is so great, it's inspired me to teach a class locally about the chemistry and therapeutic benefits of young living essential oils! Way to go Dr. Stewart!Absolutely Awesome! And of course, the Maker of Heaven and Earth's creation is what the book is all about, so how can you go wrong?
