Works great for getting belts to the correct tension. It's very easy to use, just kind of bulky so it can be hard to get it in tight areas. You can leave it on the belt while adjusting the tightness, making it really easy to get it to the right tension. s

This is a top quality tension tool. Easy to use, just follow the directions. Not cheap but very accurate. You get what you pay for.

Works well but seems overpriced for what it is..

i bought this to use on our coach based on the recommendation of a couple of professional mechanics. the first order was promptly delivered but based on what appeared to be a mfg defect, the plunger guide broke apart after the first couple of times that i depressed the plunger. i filed a return / replace with amazon / the vendor and the vendor responded immediately apologizing for the problem and said they would ship a replacement asap. the new unit arrived two days later. i used it yesterday on my coach belts and it worked just as expected on the belts i can easily get at. truth be told, i can't seem to access the serpentine belt as it's too close to engine block / various components so i'll have to (a) buy a different type of tension gauge or (b) solely rely on the new tensioner i'm installing to do its job.

Easy to use & read. You need plenty of side room & top room to use this. This is not for tight areas at all.

When I first started, the Sears automotive tech technician instructor told us that we needed one of these. Well after five years of ignoring that great advice I finally bought one and realized that I have been a moron and I should’ve bought one five years ago.

I've been an industrial mechanic for 40 years, now retired. I wanted a tensioner to accurately set my Zero Turn Mower deck and hydraulic trans drive belts. These are both typical V-Belt style construction. Problem is the jaws on this device only open about 7/16 of an inch and these belts will not fit into the device. I'm sure it works fine on flat automotive style timing belts. To open the jaws to the max extent requires A Lot Of Pressure which is even more Challenging in tight spaces. My mower manufacturer even recommends this device for this application which makes no sense?
