Very good product
I was looking for a reasonably priced library ladder hardware package when I came across this product. I was not looking for anything fancy, just functional. And I must admit, when I received the package I was very impressed. As advertised, all of the hardware was in fact stainless steel. I tested this with a magnet; rails, hardware and screws (stainless is not magnetic). It passed the test. It’s definitely stainless with a grade of 301 to 303.The rollers are impressively smooth. The mounting hardware is very well machined and all the screws and mounts align well.My suggestion: Because of the tight tolerances of the hardware, there isn’t any “wiggle room”. I would highly recommend that you assemble the rail assembly onto the board you intend to hang the ladder hardware on on a flat surface like a work bench. Measure accurately as once you mount the supports, there is no room for error. Once you have assembled the entire rail assembly, dissemble the rail hardware and hang the board onto the surface where the ladder will go and reassemble the rail assembly. It is not often I submit reviews but I was so impressed with working with this product that I had to give it the credit it deserves.

needs modifications
The materials are very nice. But be prepared to need good tools to get it right. The steel rods are solid, but one on mine had a slight bow, so it had to be bend straight with some effort since they are thick (a bent rod will cause problems at the joints). The screws that hold the brackets to the shelves DO NOT FIT. The heads of the screws stick up and do not seat all the way into the bracket for the required clearance for the top plate connected to the poles, so you have to grind the perimeter of the screw heads to get them seated correctly. Typical chinese mixing and mis-matching hardware. The roller brackets are designed to go on the front side of the ladder, but you will find they work better on the back side of the ladder for proper clearance especially for a closet with upper hangers that want to stick out and bump the ladder. The coupling that links the two (or more) rods with the rubber gaskets have way too much play. That will cause the roller to hang up at the joint since they wont be perfectly aligned. Wrap some electrical tape around the gaskets to get a tight fit as it goes into the ends of the poles. So you need a workshop and some experience working with metal if you want a perfect install. Other than that, like I said a nice looking system. The wheels are kinda ugly though, but functional.

Super High Quality, but buyer beware!
Super precise, super high quality, but buyer beware this is not for the novice to install!!!I constructed an entire wall to wall built in book case, this was absolutely the hardest and unequivocally the most difficult thing I had to do! I'm a pretty good carpenter, but I had to take 3 days just to wrap my head around the way this mounts, IT'S VERY PRECISE AND YOU ONLY GET ONE CHANCE or your whole project is screwed and you have to start over or somehow cover up your mistake especially if it's all trimmed out and finished or painted like mine.HINT: If you were to mount it to a flat board first then mount that board it would make it a whole lot easier, I didn't have that choice because I didn't wanna cover up all my trim work I had completed (and painted).Whew! It's up and absolutely gorgeous and perfect. I'll up-date later with a photo once I get my "antique" ladder finished that I chose to go with for the character I'm going for in my library study.Ona a scale of 1-5 in difficulty to install, I give it a 10+!Good luck with your installation, it's worth the trouble.Tray Burge

Nice precise well made solid product.
This railing system is very well put together. If you have some tools to drill through the rod, it is pretty straight forward to adapt it to your library's shelving configuration. I ordered the wheel kit for the bottom of the ladder, but returned it as the ladder was much more stable just resting on the floor. If you build your own ladder, be sure to pay attention to the angles to create the right length ladder.Overall, a very snazzy addition to our library.

Limited options so I had to make do
This item was way overpriced in my opnion but China seems to have a monoply on these racks and has the prices locked. I needed this for a client who decided to add a ladder to a shelf last minute. I was able to make the ladder on my own but needed the rail asap. That is the only reason I bought this but again way overpriced.
