Pretty good
I like these, they're comfortable and didn't change the sound.

The BEST Earpads for the K240 Family
I've been searching for the perfect earpads for my vintage AKG K240M for a long time. One thing people did not pay enough attention to, or simply did not care, is how much impact the pads have on the sounds. I'm often amazed how different a set of headphones would sound with different pads, and this is often not mentioned or emphasized enough in the other reviews of earpads. For example, if I switch to any velvet/velour pads for the K240 family, the sounds would change so drastically that I cannot tolerate at all. The bass would be significantly reduced, mid sounds recessed and far away, and highs become harsh. So my first conclusion is to stay away from any velvet/velour pads for the K240 families. There are mainly 3 categories of "leather like" pads I tried before getting these Neomusicia ones:1. The AKG originals. They sound the best among the 3 categories (of course, they are the originals). However, they are pricy and uncomfortable. The originals are made of PU leathers that don't breath well. It feels stiff and hot. My face will start sweating after wearing them for a short while. And the original pads do not come with the inner foam covering the driver, which needs to be separately ordered.2. I tried some cheaper pads on ebay, that looks and feels similar to the originals. Most of them are close enough to the originals, but often slightly off in the dimensions (Original is 104mm outer, 55mm inner, 20mm thick), or being too soft or too hard. These deviations all affect the sound. They sometimes come with inner foams but usually appear to be a simple layer of sponge that is different from the original (inner layer of sponge and outer layer of cloth).3. Sheepskin leather ones from Dekoni or Brainwavz. Yes they are comfortable, but their dimensions are way off to make the K240 sound like the originals. The closest pads they have are the round shape 100mm outer, 55mm inner, and 30mm thick ones. They are way too thick and completely changed the sound. The angled ones are even worse, of course. And, gosh they are way overpriced (Dekoni ones cost $69.99)!Now let's talk about these Neomusicia pads. I think they did a couple of things right:1. The dimensions are very close to the originals, especially the thickness which affects the sound the most, given it determines the distance between the drivers and your ears.2. This result in the closest sound to the originals. I'd say I can barely tell the difference, and maybe even slightly better bass response than the originals.3. The sheepskin is way more comfortable and durable (to be tested in time) than the originals. It's softer, cooler, and breath better.4. They come with the pair of inner foams that looks the same as the original foam that you need to separately order.5. The price is 60% of the original, yet uses better material, provide better results, and comes with additional foams. These are simply the best earpads for the K240 family headphones on the market, regardless of price. And even better considering the price.

Perfect fit
I bought two sets of these replacement pads for my two sets of AKG K240 Studio headphones. Each set comes with a pair of pads and a pair of thin foam inserts to replace the original inserts.I peeled off the old, cracked pads and the foam inserts from both sets of headphones. After removing the old stuff, I noticed a fair amount of black powder underneath the foam inserts and pieces of foam within the driver spokes themselves. Some spokes had foam and others didn't. I carefully cleaned out the powder and the foam within some of the spokes. I assume the foam was supposed to be there, but since one set of headphones had about 25% of the foam remaining and the other set had about 50%, I just decided to clean it all out. I have noticed zero difference in audio performance.I then used two Zots to hold each foam insert in place as I stretched the pads carefully around each earpiece. It is a tight stretch, as it should be.You can manipulate the pads around the earpiece by using your fingers on the inside and outside at the same time. After stretching all four pads onto the earpieces, it is possible to stretch the outer, thin edge of the pads all the way out to the edge of the plastic earpieces. It looks nicer, in my opinion. The replacement pads feel great as compared to the old, cracked, original pads. They help to seal out external noise much better than the worn out pads.Overall, this was money well spent. Yes, it was about 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of a new set of the same headphines, but there was nothing wrong with my old sets other than worn out pads on both.

Great replacement for an old set of cans.
I still have my 40+ year old AKG K240s, that for the last few years have worn a pair of cheap but passable set of velour pads. I hate velour pads lol. Ordered these on a whim, and what a major improvement. Super supple and soft, my K240s have never been this comfortable. Pads even came with the inner foam disks. Took a bit to remove all the sticky perished foam from the face of the drivers (and carefully out of the drivers themselves with fine tweezers), but afterwards they sound as good as the day they were new.
