Greek Organic Bio Herb Lemon Verbena Leaves from Mount Pelion Greece - GMO/Caffeine Free

The package looked so small, but there are lots of tea leaves (whole, not crushed) in it. I ordered two different brands of lemon verbena tea and this one bested the other in taste by far!

Greece produces a lot of good Lemon Verbena, I've bought it from several different sellers. This one is tasty and smells good, but the bag is quite small, making the price per oz. somewhere between 3X and 5X what I've paid previously.

I had a particular recipe that needed some of these. The smell of the dried herb was wonderful; I passed around the bag to allow my diners to experience that. Unfortunately, the recipe either asked for too little or just didn’t do the herbs justice as they were barely noticeable. <sigh> Guess I should hunt up other recipes. Wish that they had been available in a smaller quantity. That’s the only reason I knocked down the “value for money”; if you don’t have a lot of use for something, the balance is - essentially - wasted money. Still, I’m glad to have learned what Lemon Verbena smells like.

The flavor itself is pleasant, however I’ve had lemon verbena tea before and this tastes and smells nothing like it. If anything, it smells like oregano or rosemary. Absolutely zero lemon scent whatsoever. Disappointed as I’m unable to return at this point. Wont be buying again.

I use these as an herbal tea along with the same company's Lemon Balm leaves, love them both! The leaves were all in tact and look freshly picked and dried, retaining a nice color. Scent is mild but good.
