It's a horse shoe
Just what I needed for the garage door. Bit in the small side but we're it any bigger it would not fit the space so well.

How to hang a horse shoe for luck.
You should not hang a horseshoe upside down as it says the luck will run out. The horseshoe should be hanged up right so it looks like a U so the luck stays in the shoe and gives you luck. Just some advice. Hopefully it helps.
