An *expert* level build, not "intermediate"
The media could not be loaded. My son and I spent quite a few hours together building this tank. Bottom line: we both had periods of frustration, but in the end, we're both happy with it. He enjoyed the challenge, and I like that we had so many hours offline building this together. Here's the nitty gritty. This is an expert level build, not intermediate. It's extremely delicate, and the directions can be confusing. We actually got through the first two parts of the build, only to realize we did something wrong because there was no way the treads would fit under the fenders. So I went back and tore it apart, and rebuilt it.Every part of this build seemed very delicate. My son is 11, and got frustrated easily, and he's not inexperienced with builds. So if you're looking for a gift, make sure your kiddo is patient and experienced. When we finished, it was a bit tough to charge, but it was fun to play with. It does *not* move fast, but it's probably on par with other RC lego-type builds we've done.I'm giving this 4 stars because the instructions are fairly confusing, even for adults. I had one section I had to rebuild 3 times before I got it right. It's hard to explain, but the instructions are not quite clear on all the pages. If you're up for a challenge that may have your tear it down and build it up a couple of times, this is your kit. But if you want an easy RC build, you may want to look at something else.

Great kit!
First of all, I got this kit at half off which is really a no brainier. Even at full price it is a great value but if the sale persists, order right away!! The assembly is fairly complex but the instructions are first class! If you can't tell exactly where a piece goes, look a step or two ahead and it will make sense. The trickiest part is getting the wires tucked where they belong but again, the instructions show you how and where they go. Take your time and enjoy the process. The finished product is pretty solid, the only thing I would consider gluing would be the barrel of the cannon if you are going to be playing with it. Speed is average for a legoish tracked vehicle. Really a great looking display piece. I didn't add the stickers. I may in the future but it looks great without. Beautiful packaging makes it very giftable!

Fun, but challenging set
I got this set for my 11 year old. He’s big into building toy sets and was excited for this. It took him a few days and he did have to redo a few areas where he had messed up. Overall, he really enjoyed the set and says it’s really cool, just may be too challenging for younger builders.

A brilliant design meets horrible instructions.
Packaging : A very well printed outer box containing two nicely printed inner boxes which contain numbered bags (Phases 1-3) and a few non-numbered bags with the motors, battery box, and remote control.Manuals : Two large, well printed instruction manuals on good quality paper are included, each one covering roughly half of the build.Stickers : One sheet of stickers is included. These are for the road wheels and a few specific bits (air vent grates for the engine, a few German military markings, some barrel markings). The quality is passable, and the set looks good enough without stickers that I opted to leave them off.Parts Quality : Here's where it lost the first star. CADA has *EXCELLENT* parts quality on the overall, which made the two problems I hit especially vexing. The first was a technic element that wasn't formed correctly, resulting in it being unable to accept the needed connector. As I was unable to get a response to a "need parts" request, I had to drill the part out. Any time I need to use power tools to fix a part, that's a major negative. There was also a missing part much later in the build, but it was possible to hide the problem in such a way that it had very minimal impact. I can say that it is probably very unlikely that most buyers will experience the first problem I hit, especially since there were two of that part used in the set, and only one was badly formed.Set design : The set design itself is 'mad genius' levels of brilliant, which is a blessing and a curse. I can only say that it would be a very, very good idea to read the instructions *fully* before building, as there are going to be times that doing things in almost a reversed order would be of great benefit. I've never had to give that advice before on a build, but this build was *not* put to paper in a way that is logical, sensible, or in a few instances, physically possible. Phase 1 went together nicely enough, but phase 2 was incredibly unstable right up until the last few steps, and required me to rebuild things several times due to that lack of stability while trying to add parts. I honestly have to ding the set a star just because this puts what should be a 'fairly complex but workable' build into 'experts only' territory.
