Thank you for joining our movement of Soap=Hope. About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Soap Equals Hope How did you come up with the idea for this product? Founder David Simnick was working full-time for a USAID contractor and felt that there was a more sustainable way to help spread hygiene items and education to those who needed it. While at American University, he came up with the idea of using a for-profit business to fund a non-profit function. The business plan was developed in class where co-founder Dan Doll and David met and the rest is in the suds! What makes your product special? Not only do our products have a buy-one give-one mission behind each of them, they also do good for your body! We never include harsh chemicals or test on animals, so you can rest assured these producst are good AND do good. What has been the best part of your startup experience? Being able to build a team of young, hungry, humble and smart people to bring this vision to life has been an incredible experience to be a part of. Our SoapBox family thanks you for your support as we grow and work hard to provide great products for you and your family, and pour a little hope into the world while we're at it!

Smells good, no itch on my sensitive head.
I love this shampoo/conditioner. I am thrilled to be able to buy it online because the store I originally found it on rarely has it in stock. I have extremely dry skin and am sensitive to many hair products. They make my scalp itch. But this one does not and I love the coconut smell. 12 yr old daughter also loves it. She's actually the one who discovered it.

I also love that the company donates for every bottle purchased
This product makes my hair really soft. I noticed a difference after the first wash on how soft and shiny my hair was. I also love that the company donates for every bottle purchased. I will be a repeat customer with them for as long as I can, just ordered their body wash too :)

If you like pina coladas getting caught in the rain
Fragrance is very strong in this conditioner with its coconut/tropical scent; you can even smell the aroma on the bottle before opening. Even after the shower, the fragrance will stay on you for maybe 5-15mintues depending on much you applyFunctionally it works like any other standard conditioner. There's no night and day difference. When the bottle is quarter empty I recommend flipping it upside down for easy access as gravity may take too long to do it's job in the upright position.Part of the proceeds go to charity providing clean water to under developed countries. There's a code on the bottle to see where your donation goes to, but you have to manually enter web address (could have put a QR code for easier access). Also e-mail is required to access the information which is a bit off putting if you don't like potential e-mails from companies/3rd parties.Overall, if you like the tropical smell on your head and want to contribute to giving the underprivileged some clean water this product is for you

Great Shampoo if you have the right hair type, and nice price, but check it out on the web first if your have a very dry hair.
I normally use a harsh dandruff shampoo, but I can see myself alternating this quite a bit. I keep my hair mostly short, but this did a nice job of cleaning and making my brush like hair feel very soft. I loved the coconut smell as well, the coconut oil must be fairly high in content because you could really smell it strongly. I don't know how this affects hair in general, but I do no coconut oil has a number of very favorable health benefits. Since I'd not directly heard of it for hair, I decided to check around on the web. The consensus seems to be that it works good shiny hair which indicates a good protein content. However, for dry hair, it can make it brittle, or potentially cause hair loss. There are better alternative oils to use for that type of hair. My hair has always been on the oily side, so it works well for me, even if I do not intend to use it every shampoo.Soapbox makes a line of environmentally safe products, the cost of this was quite inexpensive I thought, less than I'd pay for many shampoo conditioner combos. The price and benefits I got using it the last few days is enough to give it an excellent rating. For that I recommend it highly to people with an oily hair type. The rating drops by 3 stars and a no recommend if you have very dry hair, so buyer beware who you are buying it for and if it will benefit or cause problems. Used occasionally, I doubt it will hurt anyone, so if you love the smell of coconut this is something good to try. It worked well for me, but check the web to make sure if you are thinking about switching to make it a full time shampoo.

Maybe Smells too Good
Opening up the bottle and take a whiff and you realize, yep, this does smell like coconut. Maybe a little too much like coconut because the first couple times I used this, I got a little hungry. And having to leave the conditioner in for three to five minutes only increased the hunger. The conditioner is nice and thick and leaves my hair nice and soft while the coconut smell does become faint son after.I also like that Soapbox is big into charity as the bottle claims that each bottle provides a month's supply of clean water to a community in need. There is even a code on each bottle that will tell you just where (mine when to Phnom, Phen, Cambodia). The bottle also suggests to "buy one, give one" so I also begrudgingly gave one to my sister, but since it was a three pack, I still have two more for myself.
