Love that this is a true story of a young woman who persevered in her dream to become a scientist who studies sharks! It is well told, engaging, and inspiring. Great timeline of Eugenie’s life and additional shark facts at the end. Uses good vocabulary and has fantastic illustrations.

I bought this book for my daughter and she loves it!! She’s obsessed with sea life and this book was like it was written just for her.

I think that learning about our planet and all of its inhabitants builds respect which in turn teaches our young ones to protect it.

My son loves sharks and this is a fantastic story of being in love with sharks. And also a way to convey women’s struggles to be taken seriously in a scientific career. Terrific book.

This book has encouraged my daughter to learn beyond other people's "natural" fear of sharks to learn more about exploring our oceans. She wants to scuba dive with me and sharks in the future now:)

Shark Lady: The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean’s Most Fearless Scientist is a great way to show your children about a woman breaking that male stereotype barrier. Take a dive into her life and read about the obstacles Eugenie Clark overcame. A true pioneer in the field! My son, the shark lover, has been entranced with this book for years now. While all of my children will have another story that proves you can do anything you put your mind to.

This is a wonderful book and one which my 5 years thoroughly enjoyed. Even as a keen diver, i was unaware of Eugenie and her life dedicated to sharks. Thankfully this book not only educated me and my 5 years olds about her life and talents. We have a new idol to read about every night.
