Great BMW F10 CarPlay 12.3 display upgrade
This PEMP unit is a perfect solution to modernize the BMW F10 OEM screen with a larger 12.3in display with CarPlay. The PEMP unit also arrived updated with Android 13, and included tools & instructions for the installation process.Instructions were clear and any confusion was addressed by a YouTube search.Audio has been performing perfectly, I am able to run the audio through the oem usb port to my iPhone and use the windshield display and wheel functions like stock while using the unit. My preferred audio options are usb or aux. PEMP did a great job with this and my oem subwoofer is enabled and everything works, music phone calls, muting, track control. For daily use this unit loads up fast and connects to my phone after a few seconds. The CarPlay works very well and is responsive to touch or scrolling with the iDrive knob.Overall I am very impressed and happy with this purchase. Absolute performance. Worth it.

CIC Linux Display Great OEM-Like Upgrade for CarPlay & Touchscreen – Easy Install!
If you’re just looking to upgrade your screen for **Apple CarPlay, touchscreen, and AirPlay**, this is perfect. **Installation was easy**—took me about an hour, and it was my first time installing a screen in any car. They provide **videos and detailed instructions**, plus a **plastic pry tool** that made taking apart the interior super simple.I’ve tried other **budget BMW add-on screens**, and they usually require a ton of pressure to use the touchscreen. This one works **smoothly, just like OEM**. **Fitment is spot on**—it looks like it came from the factory. It’s also **way bigger** than my stock **10.25-inch** screen. I didn’t feel like running an AUX cable for audio, so I’m using the mode that keeps me connected to both the **original and new system**, and it works perfectly. The **UI is very smooth for the price**, giving just the right performance where it doesn’t feel sluggish. **You really can’t beat the price**, even if you find a cheaper one on Ali Express—they’re usually lower quality, and this one came with **next-day delivery**.If anyone’s wondering, **your stock backup camera will still work** and automatically show up when you shift into reverse. Also, **don’t freak out if your original system looks off** when switching back—the resolution might need adjusting. **Just go into the settings and select your original screen resolution** to fix it. I’ve seen people return it just because of that, so keep that in mind. The only **minor con** is that if you’re parking and shift back into drive, the **parking sensor screen disappears**, but the **beeping still works**, which is fine for me but might bother some people.

Updated review - is a nice upgrade
New edit: I returned my unit. It is good but it was quirky and had a lot of random little bugs. It would lose connection with my iPhone sometimes and wouldn’t come back. I couldn’t switch to the factory menu without the music stopping so using the front camera or the vehicle status features became cumbersome. I opted for the MMI from BimmerTech and have zero complaints about that product.Good:* Large, clear, responsive touchscreen* Different UI themes to align with BMW appearance* iDrive controller integration* Wireless CarPlay* The factory radio is still there and displays properly (depending on your radio, you may need to make adjustments to the display resolution).* Factory 360 and backup cameras work as expected. Not so good:* The instructions included with the package overlook a step or two, but they do refer you to the video tutorial.* I have no idea where the mic is but it sometimes struggles to understand me when dictating a text.** I fixed this by adjusting the Mic Gain in the “factory” menu.* I fought with Bluetooth and CarPlay for an hour or two to get wireless CarPlay working after a firmware update.** This turned out to be user error. I had my hotspot turned on for my kid’s iPad which prevented wireless CarPlay.* As mentioned in another review, CarPlay is an app within the Zlink app. It works fine but it’s not always obvious how to get back to it.* My iDrive controller stopped working with it. The controller works for the factory radio. Not sure why. I’ll investigate more.** This resolved itself after leaving the car off overnight. The install took about an hour, and other than struggling to fit everything inside the dash, it was fairly easy.I’m yet to see if this is worth the cost compared to the internal module that works with the factory screen but time will tell.** Update: after having this for a few days, I revise my statement. It is a legit upgrade. The larger screen is very nice and now that I’ve adjusted to it, I think it is worth the cost. Everything works smoothly and I’ve retained the factory HU features as well. The only thing left is that I wish you could use the Media button to go to the CarPlay audio player. The Nav button takes you to the CarPlay Nav (if you’re in CarPlay) so I’d think similar could be done for media.

Had it installed for a year. Apple CarPlay doesn’t work. Wireless or wired.
It went in well enough. Hardest part was getting all of the cables stuff into corners to make it work. The only reason I invested in it was the Apple CarPlay. The fact that it has never worked just makes me mad, every time I look at it. I have been all over their site and support with no success.

Really does look good
2014 535d, looks really good, works like it should, you have options of sticking to the bmw software, Android auto or their own software. I prefer their own and unmistakable android audio from my phone. Easier this way... for me.

Ehhh....
Works like half the time and even then it just freezes up. CarPlay works but freezes a lot and disconnects even when my phone is right next to it. Microphone does not work well when on calls. Buy a different unit and save yourself the installation time.
