3M 1080 Gloss Black Air-Release Vinyl Wrap Roll with Toolkit (1ft x 5ft)

I grabbed a 1 ft × 5 ft piece of 3M 1080 gloss black vinyl to wrap a small trim piece on my motorcycle — I wanted something sleek, clean, and that wouldn’t peel after a few rides. Right away, the air-release backing made installation much easier than expected: I laid the vinyl down, and with a few smooth passes of the squeegee from the toolkit, bubbles disappeared under the surface rather than getting trapped underneath. Once wrapped, the gloss black finish looked smooth and professional — almost like freshly painted metal, not a vinyl sticker. In sunlight it caught reflections cleanly, and the edges stayed tight without peeling or curling. I mounted the trim on the bike, took it for a ride, and even after a bit of wind and weather (dust, slight rain), the wrap stayed firmly in place. What I really liked was how forgiving the wrap was during installation. I repositioned it a couple of times while aligning it with edges — and the air-release tech allowed me to readjust without ruining the adhesive. If you want a small-scale wrap job — trim pieces, interior panel accents, small motorcycle or tool-box parts — this 3M vinyl roll is a solid, high-quality choice. It looks sharp and holds up well.

I recently bought a used vehicle and didn't realize (it was in the evening) that the paint on the window pillars was severely sun damaged and extremely unattractive looking in the day light. I searched the web to see if I could find replacement pieces but the OEM parts for both sides of the vehicle came to a price tag of almost $500. So I started researching vinyl and how it works. I have never done anything like this before and the only vinyl I've used is the heat transfer stuff for the Cricut. I figured I could at least try and if it didn't work out, I'd just take it off my car. Well it's safe to say that I don't need to take it off. It turned out AMAZING! This vinyl is super easy to use. They give you the pieces you need to put it on, but you definitely need a razor blade to cut the excess off and I suggest finding a video on YouTube that explains the prepping process before and when applying the vinyl so that it sticks better. If you've never done it before. I did buy a heat gun just in case, but I didn't even need to use it. I am 110% satisfied with the outcome of the look. I can't say much for how it'll hold up in the sun or rain and snow, but for now it looks great. Super easy to use and saves you a ton of money!

Following properly the instructions the results are awesome, but I’ll update after next summer

Quality product, will buy again

Bought this to wrap my door handles black and the end product looks professional. The vinyl was very easy to use and it was forgiving in the process. I was able to complete the job without any creases or rips. It responds great to heat to wrap around any weird edges you are working with!

The is in fact 3M film despite the sticker holding it wrapped. I mainly chose this product because it was supposed to come with instructions tools. It was packaged well, but only had a roll of film. Luckily I had some extra spreaders and some sacrificial microfiber polishing rags to use for installation. The film itself seems ok and it arrived in a timely manner. It would just be nice if you could receive what was advertised.

Worked great.this was my first time using a wrap. I used it to wrap my pillars between my windows. But make sure you have all glue and any nicks in the paint removed and filled in. It will show exactly as the surface below it looks. I had some nicks in the paint I had done removing the old glue, and some left over glue I didn’t get off all the way. And they show very clearly through the wrap.

This is good stuff. Went on easy , I used the wet method to apply it. This stuff has great workability, easy to get out bubbles creases etc. use heat gun and squeegee. Yea , great product. Come on man it’s 3M you already know.
