Seems like they are better tools for the job
It's really not bad. It's sort of one of those things where like where am I going to put this/ where am I going to store this when I'm not using it? Unless you have a lot of space I wouldn't bother getting something like this for your matcha. I'm not sure maybe I don't know what I'm talking about but I seem to get the exact same results from using a normal metal whisk if not better results and the whisk is easier to clean than the wooden frother thingy. None of the other accoutrements seem necessary either. Generally there's nothing wrong with this it is what it is but I would skip it if I just value utility and not having clutter in my kitchen. Just my two cents on it.

Love this!
Before getting this I was using a metal whisk, which technically worked, however, it made bigger bubbles, which popped quickly. Since getting this bamboo whisk, I am able to have actual foam in my matcha. The foam lasts a long time, I drink quite slowly, so this is a huge plus for me! It blended so well! No bitterness at all. Works great! Be sure to follow the instructions on the box to keep it working well.

Works well, beautiful
I normally read the negative reviews BEFORE I purchase anything, especially online, but I was kind of in a rush to get my little set so I could start having matchas again without having to pay those outrageous (and somehow totally justified) Starbucks prices. Got here in less than 24 hours. I just used it and I also just had one of the best matchas of my life. Decided to come on to leave a review and checked on the negatives since I didn't do it before and I've gotta say: if you've got a mold problem, I think you might be doing something wrong. You have to let it dry completely (which can take several hours, I'd give it a full day or two to be sure) before sealing it in anything. I'll be using mine so much that it probably will never dry properly, so I'm going to keep it out in a cool, dry place when not in use. I'm kind of lazy about pictures right now, but I'll update my review if there are any drastic changes and/or I find that the yellow dye has ruined my kidneys or it gets moldy all on its own because that wouldn't be cool, man. For now, I'm fully satisfied. The box is really cute, too, so yes, it makes a nice gift :) Thank you, me! <3

it's ok for starter kit
However, I've used mine for quite a while and the curl at the bottom just doesn't want to uncurl no matteer how long I soak it. It would also be good if the set comes with a holder which I think it's a absolutely must have.
