I am not an expert in electronics at all. I am a diy guy who can do most things. I was going to leave 4 stars for having no instructions but bumped it back to 5 after I accidentally dropped my new lcd screen off my kitchen table and onto tile floor. (Negligence on my part) I thought for sure the screen would have been damaged but it worked fine! Install was easy enough to figure out without instructions. Works great!

You can even find a 3d printer file online for a frame to get everything nice and neat!

The screen installation is a solderless one, this is basically plug and play. The touch sensor for the brightness was a little tricky to get tucked in but I got it eventually.I used the original glass due to the aftermarket one included having a matte finish that is easy to scrape off with your finger nails.In the end the result was fairly good, but there is a decent amount of light leak from the backlight on the sides of the screen.This may have been hidden if i used the replacement glass since the cutout for the lcd appears a bit smaller than the original.Overall it's a easy mod and works well, just wish it wasn't smaller.

Instructions aren’t complete but it works great if you can figure it out. There’s a walk through in another review, some instructions in the product photos, and I used some YouTube videos plus some guess work but I figured it out without too much trouble. It’s even brighter than the game boy advance sd I’m really happy with the results.

Bought this four months ago and from the get go it was finicky. It now has completely died. Not worth the money. Buy something nicer.Update:Heard from Company and they agreed to send a replacement screen. Not the whole kit. Hoping the screen replacement will solve my problem. Just waiting for it as it’s being shipped from China. Will update once it arrives.

Bought this specifically for the backlight feature and it doesn't have it.

Although this is compatible with your GBC it is in no way the same size of the original screen. It's slightly smaller. Now I all I can see is white bezels on either side of the screen. If youre ok with using the supplied glass screen then you will not notice these bezels as the screen porived has a noticably smaller window. But if your looking to buy a new shell and keep the Gameboy color logo on the glass plat then I would suggest shopping somewhere else for a bigger screen

This screen mod is super easy to drop in and requires no modification whatsoever. LCD screen mods come in slightly different dimensions than the original gbc screen, but unlike other kits, this one included an appropriately sized glass cover so that you aren't left with open space on the display. Came packaged in a plastic case, so much safer than other options I have seen thrown loosely in a bag with no protection. Does not include instructions, but it's a very easy mod to install.
