The pros use this brand for a reason
Tel-Tru thermometers are a favorite among all the famous BBQ pros on YouTube for good reason - they're incredibly accurate. I recently bought these for my Traeger and Weber kettle. I was concerned about my Traeger's temperature precision, so I mounted one slightly above grill level on the door. To my delight, the Tel-Tru matched the readings of my ThermoWorks probe, which is certified to ± .5⁰ F. Surprisingly, my Traeger's built-in thermometer was also very accurate, within just 2 degrees.Installing the Tel-Tru is a breeze; all you need is a drill with a 1/4" bit, and it's on in seconds. If you're particular about maintaining precise grill or smoker temperatures for your barbecue, I highly recommend Tel-Tru thermometers.

Accurate, easy to install, easy to read
Very accurate and quick response. I have a Weber Mastertouch with a thermometer, but the thermometer is opposite the vent. I wanted a thermometer next to the vent and researched for a few days to find the right thermometer to install next to the vent. While not the cheapest, this is exceedingly good. A 1/4 inch hole easily drilled into the Weber lid using a quality drill bit, and it's done.I found the difference between the Weber thermometer over the coals and the Tel-Tru next to the vent to consistently be 20-25 degrees difference. As I was smoking ribs, the temperature at the vent was 225 while the Weber gave a reading of 245-255. That's been consistent whether using direct or indirect cooking. The Weber thermometer was also slower to respond to opening and closing vents, but that's not a big issue. As I grill/smoke a few times a week, this Tel-Tru thermometer was well worth the price for accuracy.

Added to my weber kettle
I used this for several cooks before i got a digital ambient temp gauge and it worked great. I placed it right below the smoke vent. Once I was able to use a digital gauge, it was only about 10-15 degrees difference and would tell me that coals were getting hotter faster than the digital one would.

My fault but there should be more help with picking the correct one.
Not as accurate as I would like due to the short stem. It's my fault, but there should be more assistance with picking the correct length of the probe.

The best
I upgraded my weber kettle with this thermometer. Grilling has become more consistent and I feel I use less coal too. I chose this version because the 300 degree mark is at noon. I have the therm opposite the coals and don't require a therm to go to 700. Also needle movement on a model that goes to 700 is minor as compared to this one. As a matter of fact I monitored my slow cook of over 6 hours from my office on the first floor. I.e. I could see the needle from where I was and didn't have to go close to the grill to keep an eye on it. The ribs were awesome if I may add! This product is a little Expensive. My weber did not come with a therm installed and since I was going to modify it I wasnt going to do it with some Mickey mouse brand. Buy this therm and you won't regret it. I didnt test for accuracy however I found it to be stable and consistent.
