Okay - you possibly don't need an explanation of what this does.. If you've ever "enjoyed" the experience of walking like John Wayne for days after a long run, desperately hoping your thighs don't rub together, you'll know why you might want this. I've tried a few different products and they all have disadvantages: (Vaseline is cheap, but oh so slimy, and can mark your clothes; pulling Elastoplast off any part of your body that isn't perfectly smooth takes bravery).. This is my preferred option. I guess the disadvantage here is that it isn't that cheap. But it lasts reasonably well - you don't need to go crazy with it - just make sure the area is covered, and I find it protects better than petroleum jelly type products. It won't smart, so its suitable for your nips, your heels or wherever else you need it. Be warned that some of the container is packaging - it doesn't contain quite as much as it seems to - but even so this should do you for 35-40 runs, depending on how much you use. And if it means you can sit down, stand up, move around and do similarly amazing things post-long run, I reckon its worth it.

Before buying this stuff, my husband would often complain of chafing after running longer distances. I looked up some running sites and found lots of people recommending this product. It is slightly on the dear side, but worth every penny! First of all, the packaging makes it look more like a men's deodorant stick, not at all girly. It's easy to apply, just swipe it on the same way as you would use a deodorant stick. After you apply it, it feels like there's nothing on your skin, but if you then go to feel it with your hand, you can feel it's there - kind of like a dry oil. Since he started using it, my husband has not had even a hint of chafing, even on long runs. Brilliant stuff, highly recommended!

Brought this with me on my holiday to Greece, where it was 30 - 36 oC in heat, it was an absolute live saver! I always suffer badly from chafing when it gets hot, I applied this on in the morning time between my legs and the chafing became non existant! I didn't get it once on my holiday! All the girls on our holiday were using it and said the exact same thing. I even used it at home when it got really hot over the summer, it's an absolute life saver. Little Tip; When jumping in and out of the ocean at the boat parties, once I got out of the water I would dry off inbetween my legs, apply Body Glide, then a bit of baby power/talcum powder over the top of it, just for that bit of extra protection. Works an absolute dream! Never suffered from chafing once!

I've used Bodyglide for two years: on feet, under my arms where my vest can rub, on nipples (!) and elsewhere I won't mention, if any item of kit rubs. It has a slightly tacky feel, but it doesn't mess your clothes up like Vaseline, and it certainly works a treat at preventing chafing. Apply it liberally, and it lasts for hours - easily long enough for a marathon. Wife and daughter use it on toe-posts on their flip-flops too. My local Runners World no longer stocks this size so ordered it online. Arrived promptly, and it's the proper stuff. The only downside to Bodyglide is that it is quite expensive, but it lasts a long time, and it saves so much soreness and so many lost days running due to blisters, that it's worth it!
