Hello, The gear shift knob cover features in matte carbon fiber pattern, doesn't have highly glossy finish, will not reflect light to your eyes. Thanks.

If I ever needed to remove these, is it easy to do? Does it leave any damage to the original plastic?

Double sided tape should not damage that type of glossy plastic, just make sure the surface is really clean before putting it on! If you ever need to take it off just do it very slowly!
