The Volvo XC90 has an extremely heavy rear fiberglass hatch. The hatch strut attachment points are prone to disintegrating with the threaded metal inserts coming out. Volvos fix is to replace the hatch, yea right! Found a bit one size smaller than this item to clean the hole then hammered into place as the new attached point for the hatch strut. So far so good, could probably inject some epoxy into the thin gaps in the flat spots for a very permanent fix though the current wedge method is extremely solid.

These do what I needed them to do. I used them when restoring a Pearl Drum set to replace a lost nut that holds a tom-arm clamp on.
