Q: Are these microwavable and oven safe?

They are microwave and dishwasher safe also lead-free

Q: Do the plates get hot to the touch after microwaving?

Yes. Like any ceramic plate these get hot in the microwave. Also, these are beautiful plates and I love them but they are very heavy. And when you add food to the plate, even heavier. I liked them because of the size and rim which keeps spaghetti and sauce in its place but I would not buy them again because of the weight of these plates.

Q: Is it possible to order one plate?

From my experience, I believe you can only order in packages of 4 because they are already packed in boxes of four by company selling them. You may try to see if you can go to base company and order. Thanks.

Q: Are these stoneware, earthenware or porcelain? (All three are types of ceramic.)

it's heavy duty like stoneware. I love the dishes and use them all the time. I've never had any trouble with putting in the dishwasher. Hope this helps.
