I’m a big fan of this supplement. It helps calm my anxiety. I take 2 pills every morning & if there’s a lot of stressful things happening I take 2 more in the evening.

I'm only a week or so into taking these but I have noticed what I think are a few positive changes. Firstly, I feel like I sleep better. I am not wanting (or able) to nap during the day like I have been doing for many years. That makes me feel like my quality of sleep during the night is better and that I'm getting more fully rested which is great! My mood might be SOME better; I can't really tell yet. However, there is enough of what might be a difference that I will definitely continue taking these. They are easy to swallow and seem to work at least in some capacity. I have noticed enough subtle difference that I feel like these will really help a lot over time and as these nutrients build up in my system. Definitely worth trying and I would heartily recommend!

Depression and bipolar disorder runs in my husbands family. My first daughter grew up a very happy child. I began taking TrueHope’s Empowerplus vitamins when I discovered that I was pregnant with my first son in March of 2004. I was initially diagnosed as type 1 Bipolar in 1987 and have been a patient in psychiatric hospitals with a manic episode on multiple occasions. Traditional medications usually worked but we’re making me fat and feel emotionally flat. They can also cause liver and brain damage so I wasn’t very excited about taking them. I knew about TrueHope before I was pregnant but my psychiatrist (who in my opinion is brainwashed to believe in only drugs as a solution) told me that the TrueHope vitamins would not work and would only create expensive pee. When I said that I wanted To have a baby, he offered no alternative to medication (which can cause birth defects or miscarriage). When you are pregnant, you need to take a lot of prenatal vitamins and are not even supposed to take a Tylenol if you can avoid it so when I discovered that I was pregnant, I felt like there was no alternative and began taking the vitamins (which also worked as a prenatal vitamin). Brooke Shields wrote a book about postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis can happen to women with no preexisting conditions and I definitely had a preexisting condition so if anyone was going to go nuts from having a baby, it would have been me. I could not find a psychiatrist who was willing to supervise my taking vitamins instead of pharmaceuticals so I hired a therapist who would be qualified to recognize the onset of a manic or depressive episode. After a year or so, I ended up firing the therapist because I didn’t feel like she was needed. It has now been over 18 years since I began taking the TrueHope vitamins and never needed psychiatric drugs again and there were many things over the last 18 years which could have easily driven me into insanity but it didn’t happen. I will always be grateful to TrueHope. I usually buy my vitamins directly from TrueHope. I save money this way and their caring customer support is phenomenal.

To me these supplements smell awful and I can't get past that. Otherwise, I think they are a smart choice, backed by scientific evidence and lots of anecdotal support.

I found out about Empower Plus through the book A Promise of Hope (by Autumn Stringham) available on Audible. I was desperate after a massive, life altering bipolar episode. Doctors only had medications for me to try out that had all these other terrible side effects of major depression and so on. While this supplement isn't a replacement for medication, it certainly helps me manage and keep an even mood. I've been taking it for 5 years religiously now. It's an investment, but much better than taking a bunch of drugs. It energizes me and keeps me stable. It's a true gift. I think it is important to call in to the company to have them help figure out how many pills you should take. They shouldn't be taken past 5pm.

Really like these vitamins for boosting my mental clarity.
