This solar ionizer is super easy to use straight out of the box. My pool is a 12,000 gallon sport pool (5' deep) and I recently went a week with no chlorine and temps in the low 100's and I didn't have any algae problems. I was out of town at the time and was really pleased not to have a messy pool to clean when I returned. Cleaning the coil, basket, and copper anode takes two minutes and requires no tools. I love not having to buy liquid chlorine anymore (my pool supply store not so much) and will make back the cost of the ionizer with my chlorine savings in four months. I do still add one 3" chlorine tab per week and acid as necessary but that's it. Even with that my pool water is now super-soft mineral water without the chlorine smell, and no red eyes.Warning: do not ask your 'friendly' pool supply store staff for a recommendation. They will tell you solar ionizers are not proven, hard to clean, will leave your water unsafe, etc. Solar ionizers take money out of their pocket.

Company took 2 days to ship and product arrived 5 days later than what was expected.Came with Zero instructionsThe solar panel was cracked - it is the only thing broken - packaging was fine and so is the plastic dome atop the solar panel. I can only assume it was place in there cracked.Instead of instructions, it came with a plead to leave a 5 star rating in return for money back - so, I'd discount ALL the 5 star reviews here.The product is simple to put together. I don't know why it doesn't come pre-put together for you. The disc that holds the basked on mine was not round, it was elliptical as an American Football ball.The idea of the item is great. I'm getting another one, just better quality.

We have a 35,000 gallon chlorine pool and have 2 of these ionizers. They have helped us save a lot of money on chlorine this summer and it has been easier to maintain crystal clear water. So far we have only purchased 1 big bucket of chlorine tablets and should have enough to finish out the summer. And that is with adding water frequently bc it is so hot (Texas). I put 3 chlorine tablets in each skimmer and 3 in the bobber that floats around in the pool. Once every week or two we add one package of shock treatment and we don't have to add any chemicals. They are a little pricey but worth the cost with the money saved in chlorine and shock this summer.

Working great so far!! Will give an update after it has been used for a while. My husband loves it as he loves to clean our pool and keep it really clean. I like the fact you use less chemicals and will not smell so much of chlorine every time you get out of the pool. The filters are supposed to last 1 season. It will save you a lot of money on Chlorine.

IT WORKS.......I GUESS THIS THING WORKS BY SELF DESTRUCTING THE COPPER ROD BECAUSE IT IS CORRODING AWAY........BUT I CAN SAY THAT SINCE I STARTED USING IT I HAVE REALLY NOT HAD TO ADD ANY ALGAE CHEMICALS AND MY POOL IS HEATED AND IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT ALL DAY

I have had excellent results with this product. Prior to using the Ionizer I had continuous problems with algae growing in my pool. I had kept the chlorine at elevated levels with no result. I have damaged two Hayward pumps from keeping the chlorine levels to high. With the Ionizer I use very little chlorine and my pool is spot clear with no algae present. I am thrilled with the results. I find the unit easy to clean. The only issue is the LED light stays on in the water even though the pool chemicals are perfect as verified by Leslies. Not sure why this is.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Worked well for few months until top solar panel became unglued from base allowing water in partially submerging the float. Lasted less than 6 months due to poor build quality.

The equipment works well but forms copper salts with water and stains the metals.
