More lift than the MaxPower mulching blades
I finally bought a bagger for my Craftsman 42" tractor and wanted better vacuum performance for leaf season. As online reviewers noted, these are thinner than the original blades, and sound a bit noisier. However, the noise is more a difference in sound than a problem, and the vacuum and bagging performance is definitely better. Would I like even more vacuum? Maybe. The deck still "leaks" at the outlet side, but that's partially a function of the fact that I have the deck raised a bit to cut higher. The thinness doesn't bother me as long as they don't begin bending. Some online reviews I saw mentioned needing to use a huge washer to make thinner blades fit the star-shaped boss on the blade spindle, but mine fit fine and tightened up completely. The blades have a bent-down angle along the front and rear to make the thinner blade more rigid, and as cheap as steel is (and stamping the angle at the front and rear is costly too) I have to believe the thinness isn't for cost savings but rather a some design difference to improve performance. These are inexpensive and yet seem to do the job well. I'll buy them again some day when these are sharpened out.

quality as well as affordable
I bought these blades to replace the factory blades on my Craftsman LT1000 tractor with the 42 inch mower deck. My tractor is 20 years old, and the blades were still working, but I have sharpened them several times, so I felt it was time to get some new ones. After looking at numerous pages of blades, and reading damn near all reviews, I decided that these were the way to go. I don't mulch, or bag the clippings when I mow, so a mulching blade didn't appeal to me. These blades are all everyone says they are. They had a generic sticker applied over the top of a Copperhead sticker. I peeled them both off in order to make sure they were balanced. My blades were both sharpened, but I noticed a curl of metal left on the edge from the sharpening process at the factory. I used my dremel with an 80 grit sanding drum to knock down that curl, and put a very keen edge on both blades. They balanced out fine, and installing them is as simple as removing the old ones. Be sure to know if you have a 5 or 6 point star hub prior to ordering, or you'll be cussing. Once installed, I was very pleased with the quality of the cut, as well as the ejection of the clippings thru the chute. They do generate a bit more noise due to the high lift design, but it's not objectionable. The lawn looks very good as a result of these blades coupled with the install of the anti-scalp wheels I put on a few weeks ago. A quick tip, make sure to NOT mow the lawn when it is wet from either rain, or dew in the early morning. It is not only bad for the grass, it gives a poor quality cut, and is hard on the equipment. I see landscaping companies break this cardinal rule regularly, it completely clogs up the mower deck, not allowing air to circulate properly, and causes the clippings to clump upand look like crap on the lawn.

Good fit for Husqvarna mower.
These fit my Husqvarna riding mower great. I put them on beginning of this season and they have cut great all season. Unfortunately I hit a large rock last week and they are likely bent and will need replaced.

6 years and going
6 years and going. I have a small 1/2 acre lot and have had no issues with these blades. Just cut the lawn today looks perfect. I actually bought an extra set because I thought the would not last. The extra set has been in my shed for 6 years.

These blades are as good as any blades costing from $30 to $40/set that I was getting at the local hardware stores if they ever had any in stock. Exact fit for my old Craftsmen rider. The only downside is there is only about 3" of ground edge so I have to reduce the mower speed. I might resort to grinding and extra inch or two of blade just to regain the cutting speed but otherwise these blades seem to survive all the abuse I put them through. i.e. uneven ground, ant hills and seedlings.
