Great little IEM amp
I have enjoyed using this for several months now. Thoroghly enjoy the many features, amp models and effects. Very durable; much sturdier than other headphone amps I used in the past. Cleaner sound as well. Works well with my 6 string bass (including the tuner), where I need to pay attention to not over low-drive my lesser earphones. Paired well with my phone, which allowed excellent use of practice tracks. I can burn through the battery on extended practices, so I can tether USB charging while practice, as long as I don't wander. Takes a little time to learn everything it does. I have not tried the USB as an audio interface yet. Well worth the price, highly recommended.

Truly a surprise- exceeded my expectations ×11
Wow, probably the best guitar tech for a buck10- like ever! Seriously, I still cannot comprehend this itty-bitty key fob sized treasure is capable of - In absolute disbelief!!! I usually wouldn't talk up a guitar device. If you don't have thos yet....run don't walk to get this gold in your callused fingers! I'm buying some more for those special musicians in my circle. Damn, Nu-x really grand slammed the doo doo out of this. They so raised the bar in the guitar gear. Its 2:30am and I cannot put it down. This will Seriously change the way you play feel and exist with your creativity. OK OK, have I sold you on it yet? I am not getting jack to write this review- I am just happy to spread the word about this diamond in the rough. Feel sorry for Fender or any other guitar/gear company. I don't think anyone can beat what they've (Nu>X )done for the guitar (bass) world. Price- it's a real deal. Portable- you won't see this many features in anything this tiny anywhere! Live stream, efx, amps. bluetooth (limited). Built in backing tracks and drum styles with adjustable tempos and, wow. Did I mention it has IRs, and you can upload your own...WHAT??!! I'm so glad-I'm so glad-I'm glad I'm glad I'm flipping ecstatic! Go (order) get it, so you can write your own thoughts. If all of my purchases were as pleasant and satisfying as this was. I'd be smiling a whole bunch more.

You can make it great.
Out of the box it has a few good tone. Some were not so good to my ear and with my guitar and headphones. Be prepared to fiddle with it for a couple of hours to get tones you really like. They are easily saved or even imported. I think it depends a lot on your gear. The nice thing is it’s easy to adjust the app as you would a real amp and pedals. Then save it. My unit squealed on one preset initially. I replaced it and no issues. You need a pc to update the firmware and a companion app to save multiple tone patches. The companion app (Mightier amp) is better to use with a iPad and has a few additional features. Pros; sound great, easy to use. Perfect silent practice setup. Cons; you will likely need to fiddle with it to get tones. It may not be intuitive if you don’t know all the gear and what it does. Just be patient and you will be rewarded. It’s also a bit tricky to manage the headphone cord coming off it but it’s way easier than using headphones with a practice amp.

Excellent bass amp for headphone use
This thing is awesome. It has great tone presets right out of the box, way more options than I need. And then you can custom create your own tones and save 7 preset slots. The app fired up right away and connected no problem. Fits my front face jack great, and is thoughtfully designed to not be in the way of knobs or strings. Playing bluetooth audio through it from my phone was flawless, and sounded great. It comes with dozens of drum tracks and music tracks in different genres to groove along with too. No regrets at all, well worth the price to be able to practice in quiet, but feel like I'm playing with a live amp.

Worth the upgrade from the Mighty Plug 2
BOTTOM LINE: This is a GREAT product for the right player. With a little bit of effort you can create very good sounds in a super portable and convenient setup for players that need/like to play through headphones. (If you do not like or are not comfortable with tweaking your sound, look elsewhere. The Fender Mustang Micro will be a better option for you. It has decent tone options out of the box.) REVIEW: I've lived with the new Mighty Plug Pro for a couple of months now and it is great for the money. (I've used the older, Mighty Plug 2 for a couple of years.) The default patches are okay--not great. However, the ability to easily load and edit third party IR files through the new Mighty Editor software is a game changer. I was able to load my favorite RedWirez IR files and apply level, high-pass, and low-pass filters to work very well with the stock Mighty Plug Pro amp models. This is, by far, the best reason to buy the Mighty Plug Pro over other "plug" style amp modelers. The amp models themselves are good (better than the Mighty Plug 2)--not exact replicas but very usable for practice or jamming out. The effects options are also good to great. (The modulation effects, in particular, sound very good.) Playing latency is quite low--less than when playing in front of a real amp. Bluetooth sound is surprisingly good. Streaming music or backing tracks from my phone or computer did not suffer from the obvious quality loss I've come to expect from most Bluetooth devices. It was relatively easy to mix my guitar sound with the streamed tracks for a relatively seamless experience. While Bluetooth sound is great, there is noticeable lip-sync delay when watching video content, but it is not particularly distracting--even with instructional content. The only real negative is when playing bass through the Might Plug Pro. It suffers from the same persistent buzz that the older Might Plug has. (I addressed this with NUX in detail a couple of years ago--so it is a bit disappointing to find it in a new product.) That said, loading custom IR files and taking advantage of the included 10-band EQ can mitigate the issue to an acceptable level. I must mention that this device deserves decent headphones that are relatively easy to drive. It makes a huge difference in the experience. Something like the the Philips SHP9500 or SHP 9600 will sound amazing without breaking the bank. Overall, this is a great option for folks that like the freedom to walk around the house while practicing or jamming out to music without bothering anyone. It is not a substitute for a Line 6 Helix or a great computer based amp simulator like S-Gear, but with a little work it does sound very good when you consider the cost and the convenience it provides.

Might Plug Pro vs Mustang Micro
That's what you want to know, right? Might Plug Pro(MP-3) is the answer. I returned the Mustang Micro (MM) in a matter of days On an end jack guitar (vs strat top jack) the controls and LED were hard to see on the MM and those are the only way to control the Mustang Micro. So you press this and that small button using a cheat sheet to follow the LED colors to get something dialed in that you like then... there is no way to save it. To me, this was a big flaw in a device that cost as much as some small practice amps. While there are not many buttons on the MP-3, they are easy to see and work on an end jack guitar. With the MP-3 you use the app to tweak something to your liking then save it to one of 7 slots that you access with an easy-to-see/use button on the device. You can have more than 7 presets but only 7 can be active at one time to access from the button on the device. It's been too long to compare the sounds between the two devices but I was satisfied with the sounds on the NUX. The effects did not sound too artificial and responded well to small tweaks. Warning: The device would not connect to my phone until I updated the firmware I think this thing is the perfect blend of power use and ease of use. For practice 7 presets is plenty. I've got a kind of clean jazz sound, a very slightly dirty tweed blues sound, and a "classic rock" sound set up and I switch between those as suits my mood for practice that day. - I find with any headphone amp the more distorted the sound, the less good it sounds. The NUX costs almost as much as the MM but you get SO much more. The only reason I'd choose the MM over the MP-3 is if I did not want to use the APP at all, not even just to set it up. Oh, and a big PLUS these days. You don't have to create an account just to use the App both on my phone and windows. But once the firmware was updated no other drivers were needed to use the PC app on Windows 10. I have not tried the backing tracks/drum loops but I'm glad that feature is there for practicing, a feature completely lacking on the more expensive MM. I'm picky/critical of things but except for having to update the firmware to be recognized by the editing APP, it has completely met my expectations.

Produces a high pitched ringing noise at all times, making it terrible. Other design issues.
On the GearPage forum thread for this product (look up Mighty Plug Pro GearPage on Google), there are multiple others experiencing the same issue with the high pitched ringing noise (or whine). As well as some people on the Facebook group. It makes it unusable as it is loud enough to be evidently heard at all times, about as loud as an open string. Other than the high pitched whine it is not supposed to make (even when all amps and fx are disabled), it has other problems with its design which I will describe. First, It doesn't have a flush fit with the 1/4" input on any of my guitars, and makes an annoying scratching noise because of this whenever it moves around, which it always will because of its weight and form factor (unless you duct tape it in place, but even then it still does some). This causes a ton of extraneous noise and also makes it impossible to use as a multifx input that goes from the guitar into an amp as well (don't even bother trying to use a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter, it will just be even worse)... Second, the same happens for the headset port as well, tends to scratch a lot and cause a lot of excess noise because its not a good flush fit with any of my headphones. The headphone port also doesn't allow a full fit for TRRS headset cables (3.5mm) to go all the way in, because the plastic opening near the port is angled (hard to describe with words, but the point stands the headset port definitely isn't well designed). This means that some headsets cable simply won't go all the way into the port and thus you can't use the mic on them, and they're more likely to pop out, and again causes a lot of NOISE. The ability to "stream" with it is overblown as well, I tried getting it to work with multiple streaming platforms and it doesn't plug and play like that at all. Skype, Zoom, etc none of them worked with it. [If you have dozens of hours to spend troubleshooting, I'm sure you could route it into a DAW and use some audio routing software to route the output of the DAW into Zoom, but it is NOT plug and play into screaming software by any means).] Worst part of all is that the seller has been unhelpful in honoring the warranty. ("We can offer a replacement but there will be a heavy restocking fee"). I would not recommend going thru this seller at all if you do get one. They only redirected me to NUX who are based.in China and don't care about customer service at all, once they have sold the item. All and all its a good IDEA for a product, but poorly designed, making it useless. It's a shame becaue some of the amp models and fx seem like they would sound good if it wasn't for all the noise the unit makes, and its design flaws. I would definitely recommend the Mustang Micro over this product as it does most of what the Mighty Plug Pro does minus IR loading and the headset "feature" (which as I described is all but useless). EDIT: Seller first gave me a non-solution as i described. Only after i put this review up i got an immediate response. However their response was to direct me to NUX Support, who were also slow to get back to me. NUX support finally then said that its the seller"s responsibility to honor the warranty. So, they are playing ping-pong with responsibility for the warranty. In the end I was never able to get a replacement for my defective unit. Again, would avoid.

Sweet and Must Have!
Love this little guy. I can plug it into my semi-acoustics Bass guitar and plug in my headphones and play. With it's bluetooth function I use the app on my phone and play any songs/music through the device to my mini plugin headphones and I can do this at home or anywhere without bothering anyone. I use this for a Bass so I really did not care about the extra modeling functions (that said, I did need to work with it in the beginning to find just that sound I wanted) but no doubt if you are using one of these with a electric guitar, you would surely enjoy many of the extra sound modeling features to get the sound you are looking for. The recharging and battery life fits what is advertised. Works great. Lasts a couple hours. I've been using it now for 6 months. A MUST HAVE device for practicing in peace for you and all around you. Highly configurable and flexible to use. Love it. Totally portable. It's fast as what I music I play along from my phones bluetooth connection all work in sync as I expect them to.. Rugged, compact - well worth the buy.
