Garden is sweeter than expected + it takes a heavy pour to make a drink
arrived promptly + in good condition. the flavor is... interesting. i think i like it but it is sweeter than i had expected. it smells like gin + sweet-mint but tastes like sweetened cucumber water with a pickle aftertaste- the rosemary/ thyme/ hops notes that are supposed to be in there are too subtle for my tastebuds i guess. it is a nice change up though + helps make "cocktail hour" a bit more fun for a pregnant mom. i get to have a drink that feels special so i dont feel left out + i have fun with the crafting drinks a bit (i like mixing it in with some orange blossom syrup, lemon + sparkling water). additionally, i use much more of it per drink than the usual 4oz. pour you would normally add to a real cocktail so i am going through it faster than expected as well. the recipes on the seedlip website are fun though and it is zero calories so, if still interested, i would start with another flavor if i were you.

Fool my once…
Save yourself the time and expense and infuse some water with cucumbers. This is very FAINTLY flavored. I expected something complex and herbaceous, having read the wirecutter review. I received something that tastes like weak herbal tea. Don’t bother.

Complex, Adult flavor!
As someone who can't drink due to an alcohol allergy this is a godsend! When I make virgin cocktails with this it has a complex adult (not sweet) taste. I think a lot of people who can't drink will really appreciate this especially when the only virgin options are usually super sugary lemonades/soda etc. The bottle is pricey but so are nicer spirits so I don't mind, although I do hope more bars/restaurants will stock this as it's the kind of thing I'd love to order while out. It seems like people are upset this doesn't taste exactly like gin, but I think you need to have an open mind, it's a unique product with a unique taste and mixed with tonic waters etc. it really tastes amazing. If you can handle alcohol I think you'd be more likely to brush this product aside as it's expensive and not exactly a replacement for gin, but if you're someone who has to stay away from alcohol (or is really motivated to cut back) let me tell you it's worth it!

A grassy botanical that is quite different than other drinks. Takes some getting used to.
When I took my first sip, I was like ‘ugh’. It tasted like compost to me. BUT as I kept sipping, I came to like it more and more. Don’t expect it to taste like an alcoholic drink - it doesn’t. Or like anything sweetish or even vaguely sophisticated mixer. It is a complex botanical taste that you really have to take on its own. I started with their recommendations - I love all things cucumber. In fact, I had expected a cucumber taste. Nope. But I need to really explore it with mixers (I could see ginger beer), with stronger cucumber or maybe citrus. Perhaps the appropriate bitters. It’s a very complex flavor.

Reminded me of herbal tea
Soft grassy flavor. Reminds me of weak chamomile tea. Not bad, but I wouldn’t want to drink it straight. Pretty good with tonic, if you want a sophisticated tasting sipper but don’t want gin. Does NOT work in a martini.

Very beautiful, complex taste perfect for mixing
I've given up alcohol for health reasons and first tasted Seedlip Garden in a mocktail at a local restaurant. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased a bottle. My favorite way to enjoy it so far is to mix with a bottle of Fever Tree elderberry tonic and a twist of lime. It tastes so much like a gin and tonic! Overall, Garden has a complex taste that I think will also mix well with ginger beer. It's got an earthy, herbal taste. It's a nice alternative to sodas or plain sparkling water for those avoiding alcohol.

Not Worth It
It is okay but I found the product nothing special. Too expensive for what you get.

Truly intense herbal flavor including thyme, hay, rosemary and hops with added juniper berries, star anise and ice even without soda or tonic water! highly recommended, true Gin Tonic substitute. You will never go back...

As a replacement for gin it works well for me. The taste is delicious, although does not compare to gin, it does provide a very easy & drinkable non alcoholic alternative for those who can't drink alcohol. Highly recommend

Lots of people do not drink for various reasons. Pregnancy, being a designated driver, a personal or family history of alcoholism, inability to metabolise alcohol, weight loss, sorting out hormone imbalance, cancer, liver issues etc... The list can be quite long and varied. So anyone who wonders what the point of this drink must live a very secluded life. It DOES NOT taste like flavoured water. It definitely tastes like a botanical spirit, but without the sharp bite of alcohol behind it, if that makes sense. Personally, I wanted to stop drinking during the week because I felt it was not a healthy habit. But non-alcoholic/low-alcoholic wine is awful and I don't like juice or soft drinks. I do however like a Hendricks & tonic. I didn't bother with the Seedlip drinks until I ordered one when we were at a Sunday lunch where I was designated driver. It was so delicious I ordered my first bottle of Garden when I got home. I must admit I haven't even tried the other flavours because this one makes me so happy and allows me to continue my evening ritual of preparing a G&T with a slice and squeeze of lime without the calories, sleep interference and general habitual use that alcohol causes. I switch back to Hendricks and/or Gordons on the weekend and find no difficulty in switching between the two. Both are delicious and it is a great product. My only complaint is that it wasn't around when I was pregnant...I remember thinking if I had to drink another Fentiman's Rose Lemonade I'd barf. A nice mildly bitter, botanical proper grown up drink like Seedlip would have been much better.
