Sta-Rite FP5182-08 Industries 2hp Sprinkler Pump Fp5182-01, No Size, Black

Purchased 2HP irrigation pump. Needed 1 but inadvertently ordered 2. Requested return and was granted.Initially thought they had charged me an excessive restocking fee [50%] of pump price. Later learned they gave me full refund + a "goodwill" discount. They were about to lose a customer but their extraordinary customer service has gained them lifetime customer. I have had 3 of these pumps over the 20 years. They work great under adverse conditions and outlast other more expensive pumps.

The 2hp is very strong and the 2 inch discharge enables more water output than smaller pumps. I pump water from a pond up a 20-25 foot hill to irrigate my half acre lawn. I split the the output into 2 1-inch poly tubes which connect to Hunter PGP ultra sprinkler heads. I have three zones, each zone containing 10 sprinkler heads. It works really well. Highly recommend.

This is a replacement for my 10-year old pump that went out. Did my homework to verify the inlets and outlets were in the same position as my previous pump, which I think was essentially the same under a different manufacturer. I'm getting older and have some health issues, so getting the old one out and this in was maybe a few hours or so for me. My biggest issue was dealing with cracking/opening the metal unions on both the inlet and outlet and getting them tight again. in my case, the electrical housing does not have any play, so getting that hooked up was a little difficult, mainly due to my age and health. Got it done and pleased with the performance and noise level.

The last one lasted 20 years I,m on my 3rd one in 35 years. They work for me. I run them 8hs 2 times a week

If you are on the fence about getting a 1.5hp or a 2hp go with the 2hp! I was on the fence and went with this 2hp. Very easy to install and moves a great deal of water. My lawn is finally starting to recover.

I purchased one of these pumps for irrigation of a residential lawn. I have had other pumps (Simmer, Flotec, etc.) that have this same design. This general design tends to leak around the largo O-ring seal on the impeller body. The Sta-Rite spun a motor bearing after 2 years of use, approx. 400 hrs of operation.

This is my second 2HP FloTec / Sta-Rite Sprinkler Pump and neither one lasted long.First one lasted 2 yrs and this one only 20months.Granted, I abuse them...exposing them to the elements; pulling water a long distance (300yards or so from the lake foot valve) with a maximum lift of 12'-14'. And then I push the water output flow from 2" down to 1 1/2" up a 12' hill another couple hundred feet to 9 different stations at any given time. And if some yahoo in a boat throws an anchor or runs over my foot valve, the pump may run dry if I don't notice the damage right away.This pump is hard wired and is extremely easy to install. But it should last longer.....
