Q: Is this a rebranding of zen, and are the ingredients the same? i can't find the 'old' zen in stock, only this regenerative organic zen tea.

What a rip off! 25% price increase! I subscribed to the Tazo Organic Zen 4 pack x 48 bags. Now they have increased their price by reducing the number of bags from 48 to 36, that is 25% price increase! That is poor customer policy, no more Tazo for me.

I don't think they stopped making original Zen, I think Amazon contractors stopped offering it, but I agree with you, it is bitter. You can still find the original Zen in the grocery stores, ie, Walmart.

Q: Does this taste like Cheesecake Factory tea?

No. It is not fruity. I brew it along with Lipton"s Passion Fruit tea but even that isn't fruity enough. They use Paradise Tropical Tea but no longer sell it in their restaurants. You can buy it online.
