MAC Plum Lipstick - Film Noir (S)

I lost my MAC satin lipstick and was disappointed when I went to the store to learn this color had been retired. So thankful I was able to buy it here. This color is a deep brown and goes on smooth. No crumbling or caking. It has the right moisture. It dries smooth and stays on for hours. It is waterproof and does not get on my boyfriend when we kiss.

It’s like MAC is phasing Film Noir out, just like they did with “Currant” lipliner! I next to impossible finding the lipstick in any of their brick & mortars and website. I’m ecstatic 😍

I saw a sample of the MAC color Film Noir at a tester stand at Nordstrom. Apparently it was a sought after product and was completely sold out. I then ordered it online and was delighted to find it. However when the lipstick arrived and I opened it it had the consistency of a brick and even had a funky odor. I looked to see where it was shipped from and found out it was Germany! It seemed too much of a hassle in my busy life to return one lipstick. Sadly it was money wasted.

First off, the color is stunning, which was why I got it. But the quality is as I would expect of western make up just a disappointment. The typical lipstick scent is unbearably intense and I can feel it drying out my lips instantly. I will try to use it still because I am in love with the color, but..

Contre façon. Le rouge à lèvre sent très mauvais. Moi qui ai l’habitude d’acheter des rouges à lèvres chez Mac je n’ai jamais senti une odeur pareil.

Ich werde ihn behalten weil die Farbe trotzdem nett ist, wenn auch nicht schwarz wie gewünscht. Er deckt gut, stinkt nicht und fühlt sich angenehm an. ABER: er ist nicht Wasserfest und auch nicht wischfest (kussecht wie man es so schön nennt auch nicht). An den Zähnen färbt er auch ab. Unterm Strich kann ich ihn für den Preis nicht empfehlen.
