Cuisinart DGB-850FR Fully Automatic 10 Cup Burr Grind and Brew Thermal Coffeemaker Silver (Renewed)

I have had this unit over 2 1/2 years and it is used everyday to make a full pot of freshly ground coffee. I choose the thermal unit which is only 10-cups opposed to the glass unit machine which is 12-cups I think.Freshly ground is the only way to go and, IMO, this updated model is the best grind and brew on the market. It cleans itself after every brew (referring to the coffee chute that you had to clean with an included brush on older models). Other brands are not self cleaning. This feature is a huge convenience, trust me. It brews coffee pretty fast.The only downside would be a slim water fill door but it is a minor issue compared to what great tasting coffee it makes. When it craps out, I will buy the exact same model again.

Disclaimer: This is a refurbished machine. At $100 off MSRP at time of purchase, one has to temper expectations compared to a brand-new machine.The good:- A great price point for a burr grind autobrew system. You simple can't get these features at this quality for any cheaper. Comparable models are 2x - 2.5x the cost of this one.- Makes a great cup of coffee, which is the whole point.The bad:- The carafe is not well designed and tends to leak. I have to pour the coffee quickly. If I try to pour slowly, I'll end up with a puddle. Just pour with some gusto! The design also makes it difficult to clean; I need to use a bottle brush.- There is no warmer for the carafe. It's thermal, so it retains heat pretty well, but the coffee goes from hot to warm within about 30 minutes, so we need to get through the pot within the hour before it cools to the point of annoyance.- Burr grinder components appear to be impossible to get at to clean. This may or may not be an issue. As I've never owned a burr before, I'm unsure of the required maintenance. Perhaps the occasional vinegar wash is enough to keep the oils from building up. The manual states it performs a water flush each time the burr is used to make sure no grounds stick behind.Other notes:- Other reviews have said the grind cup control is broken, where it won't brew the number of cups you set it to. That's not true, but the manual is confusing. The machine will always brew all the water you've put into the reservoir. It's then up to you to adjust the grind control to the amount of water you've put in the machine. It's a poorly-explained feature, but not a broken feature.Bottom line: I would not have rated this as highly if I had purchased it new. But at this price, with no major defects, it's very tough to beat.

It was not clear this was a refurbished product.It leaks, the coffee beans do not fully grind. And is all around awful. Could not even get one cup of coffee out of it and there appears to be no way to return it.

Makes great tasting coffee with one flaw that bothers me. I have not been able to pour the coffee from the supplied carafe without the coffee spilling all over the place. I have overcome this by emptying the carafe into another heat-proof carafe. Works okay.

My issue with this is the coffee is not very hot. I have to warm it in the microwave after pouring a cup. I have never had this issue before from a coffee maker.

When I write, it looked brand new. But after opening, I realized you cannot clean the burr grinder. Over time with good beans, the oils will clog the grinder.

The coffee is fine, but there are some problems. I've had this machine a week, and the clock used for delayed brewing is two minutes fast already. The lid of the carafe makes pouring difficult, and it spills. It's a bad design. It's also hard to get my hand into the carafe to clean it. Must use a bottle brush.

After 2 months our gfci circuit kept blowing, after eliminating what was plugged in, we found it was the coffee maker. When we unplugged it the cord was hot.A very expensive 2 month use coffee maker.
