Nope [Blu-ray] [2022]

Very good.Very atmospheric.

What is 'Nope'? Well, anyone who has watched the trailer will have a pretty good idea, and it is exactly that, but also, uh...isn't.If you are unfamiliar, well, there's something strange in the sky. And, uh, that's it really.When all is said and done, the most this film has going for it is how subverts the explanation for what kind of movie it is whilst being exactly the same kind of movie. On the other hand...its not scary, any unsettling stuff is very early fake-outs and there's a lack of tension throughout.It's a weird film in some ways. Well acted, well shot, has a fairly unique twist and some excellent set-pieces, but still a bit "meh" by the end. To my mind it doesn't have the impact of 'get out' or 'us', and is a clever idea but a slightly disappointing film.Once you know what's going on (if you are paying attention, as I find it hard to believe some reviewers still don't get what is a pretty simple explanation) and the film shows its hand more, it does lose steam. I can't say why without spoilers but there's a sense it has taken the high-brow route, rather than something more horrifying or suspenseful , and has a somewhat unimpressive revelation.So you're left with a good idea that leads to a good film, but not a great one. If you are hoping for something to give you chills, or creep you out, then this is not that movie. Its just entertaining and not boring, and that was enough for me.

Excellent film with great actors although fiction this film could in my opinion offer at least part of the answer as to why humans vanish and claim to be abducted in some cases never to return, it’s one of those films that you will watch several times in repeat order it’s that good.

It was slow to get going and the script and acting and back story was dreadful but eventually it gets to be ok

Director Jordan Peele serves up another dose of horror in Nope, this time putting the focus on a brother-sister duo who must contend with an extraterrestrial foe. The core actors' performances are strong across the board, especially Daniel Kaluuya who does a very convincing job as the strong-but-silent OJ. The film delivers on the horror front as well, with Peele often showing just enough to rattle the audience without turning events into a gore-fest. Despite this, there is something of an adventurous quality present in the story that keeps it engaging - this is helped in no small part by Michael Abels' score, which is rousing and emotional at key moments. Overall, Nope is a strong entry from Peele which showcases his knack for disturbing horror and ability to entertain with a compelling story from start to finish.

Is a good movie

Qualità video molto buona e audio in dd plus 7.1. Pensavo al solito film di fantascienza invece mi ha sorpreso. Un bel mix di horror, fantascienza e metacinema. Consigliato!

No lleva ni audio ni subtítulos en castellano.Si no te importa ver las películas en inglés es buena compra.
