Beautiful scent, but may need to sit
*Edit*After letting the perfume sit for a week, I absolutely love it! The pink pepper note has blended into the fragrance and is nearly undetectable. I do smell it a small bit in the dry down, but now it blends almost seamlessly with the leathery smell. This did not need to mature long to become a gorgeous fragrance. I’m very happy with my purchase and love this perfume.Initial Review:This perfume was love at first sniff for me, but things quickly took a bit of a turn as it dried down more, which is why I knocked off one star. When you first spray this perfume, you get the blood orange, tuberose (which here smells like extremely fragrant orange blossom and some jasmine), and a soft, feminine leather note. I typically don’t enjoy leather or suede scents, but in this formulation I thought it was lovely and unique. The floral notes are incredibly sweet, sticky sweet almost. I don’t agree with this being unisex, it smells very feminine in my opinion. Some people say Opulent Red reminds them of Mugler’s Alien. I can see why. The heavy sweet florals are reminiscent of Alien. It’s not a dupe by any means, but they have similarities. I think the best description came from a reviewer who said it smelled like what they imagined a Louboutin would smell like. However, after about an hour of wearing OR, and enjoying the scent on my skin, the scent changed and all I could smell was pink pepper. An overwhelming amount of it. After two hours of riding out the pepper scent to see if it would change, the scent made me feel like I would get a headache if I didn’t wash it off. I HATE heavy pink pepper. This perfume PROJECTS. And the sillage is insane. So I went from getting strong whiffs of an enjoyable scent, to nasty pepper. I washed it off my arm, and the scent was STILL there. I had to wash it with soap 3 times to get the perfume off of me. I’m letting it sit for a week or two to see if it’ll transform and either stay the beautiful scent I originally smelled, or transform into something better. I’m truly hoping letting it sit helps, as I love the smell before the pink pepper takes over. They really had a gem here, but overdid it by throwing too much of that note in, like many fragrance houses are presently doing. All in all, this is NOT a safe blind buy, even if the scent doesn’t change for you. I also wouldn’t suggest this for anyone who doesn’t enjoy leaving a scent trail. People will smell this on you when you enter a room.

Sexy, Sweet, & Elegant Fragrance.
I have had this perfume for a little over a month. I can now give you my honest opinion of this perfume by Lattafa called Opulent Red. This perfume seems to either have some people confused, upset, in love or not in love with it. I have read in the comments section of Amazon and Fragrantica that this perfume smelled terribly like gasoline or mature. However, I do see some of their points and I nearly given up on it until after a month of letting this perfume grow on me. This perfume to me is sweet, elegant and classy. It has this creaminess of Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Heliotrope, Jasmine,Tuberose, Cashmeran and Amber. I think why people are smelling gasoline is because there is a mixture of cognac (if you ever drink cognac it smells a tad bit like gasoline in it), patchouli, sandalwood and argawood. Also, I believe that this fragrance is misunderstood because some people immediately spray it on their wrist or paper and immediately 😅 smell it right away and says they smell alcohol. I am guilty of that too, with every fragrance, you will smell the initial alcohol once you spray it on and a true perfumer will tell you to wait 10 to 20 minutes after you spray it on skin before smelling yourself. Heck i still keep forgetting to follow that rule. Also, don't just spray it on paper because you will not get the benefit of it changing. The perfume needs to be on skin in order for it to meld into your chemistry to create an fragrance from within to be expelled outwards. I can only say I genuinely love ❤️ it and my husband, kids, friends and colleagues love the fragrance on me as well. Again, it depends on your body chemistry and also what notes in the fragrance that you love that melds well with your skin. I can't speak for the rest of you....... but if you like, it GREAT but if you don't like it, gift it to a friend or family member who might enjoy it or sell it online like Mecari or Ebay. You are spending less than $30 and that something I would not be upset about.......however I would be upset spending over $100 for a perfume that doesn't work for me or can't return. Lattafa Opulent Red seems like a more of a Niche brand with my all time favorite perfume Rouge Malachite. They both smell similar but different and I did mixed the 2 and I can say, they are both POWERHOUSES together ❤️. All in all I will purchase 2 more bottles as back ups.

Not for me
Awful scent....not sure how people saying this smells great. Smells like rubber and oil. I love Lattafa fragrances but very disappointed in this one. Can't return so I guess I'll let it sit and see what it does. But for now, it's a no for me.

Regift
No problems with the quality of the delivery or the presentation. The smell was just off putting. Gave it away to someone who actually liked it a lot.

Not at all what I was expecting.
This was recommended as a great clone alternative to Polo Red. It’s really not. It’s very, very floral & feminine. If you like rose-heavy cologne that smells like a botanical garden, this one’s for you!

Lovely and (VERY) Intense Fragrance ! -See Update-
I own quite a few Lattafa perfumes. This one is definitely in my Top 3! HOWEVER, I would say it's not for everyone. The scent is very strong and packs a punch when you enter a room. It lasts for days ... literally, close to 72 hours. So if you're looking for a dramatic, unique and elegant scent, Opulent Red is for you. Just be forewarned....once it grabs you, it won't let go. I say, be daring and go for it! It was a blind buy for me and I absolutely love it!UPDATE: Now that I've had this scent awhile and have since acquired many more Lattafa perfumes, this is by far my least favorite. It's had time to macerate and all I get now is a strong incense note. I would not recommend Opulent Red to anyone, unless you're searching for that vibe.
