Ha! I finally did it: I purchased a thing based on the strength of a (semi-)sponsored review! Usually I pay no attention to those, but... this one was a video review, and it won me over! Once I heard those bells, I had to hear them for myself again in person.And... I really love these chimes! I love the wind chimes I already own, too, but they're much smaller—they're "city" chimes!—and I wanted a less-expensive set for the front patio of our new house here in the suburbs. I wanted a way to announce to the neighbors "we live here! We're home!" But price also played a factor in my purchase because, I don't know, is there such a thing as "wind-chime thieves"?? Probably not, but my other chimes were from my mom, and I didn't want to risk it.The first thing that surprised me about these chimes is the way they catch the wind. I guess that sounds silly on its face, but it takes an almost gale-force wind to get my temple bells to start singing, you know? These chimes, however, start chiming even in a light breeze, and I can hear them from inside my kitchen, about twenty-five feet away.Another reviewer described them as "not twinkly," which is accurate. My Woodstock chimes are, by comparison, twinkly, and I would describe my temple bells as "dulcet." These chimes, however, are "sonorous." They aren't, like, incredibly loud and annoying or anything like that. They don't clang or gong or whatever. They're just... nice. They're crowd-pleasers. I was delighted when, recently, the fellow who was fixing up our front porch suddenly complimented me on my wind chimes. He said, emphatically, "Those are GREAT wind chimes," and I just beamed.I'm actually scrolling through other reviews as I write this one, and maybe other folks are saying the chimes don't hold up that well? Hmm. I have my chimes hanging from a beam under a covered patio, so I'm less concerned about weathering. I guess the whole point, for me, of spending a little less on these chimes, was so I wouldn't be too upset if something awful ever happened to them. But... well, I think by now I'm so attached to them, I WOULD be disappointed if they ever fell apart, because I really DO like them a lot. At this price point they're certainly replaceable, though. I guess that's something you'll have to weigh for yourself. If my feelings change, I will definitely update my review, but at this time I feel that US$18 is an incredible value for the sounds you get.Anyway! As of now, I am definitely a happy customer, and I agree that they are perfect "patio" chimes. I think you could definitely brighten the day of passing dog-walkers and kids running up and down the street, et al. I think I'll enjoy them even more in the summer, once it gets to be outdoor weather and people are all firing up their barbecues. But I've certainly enjoyed them this winter, too.I'm not sure if the material you pick makes a difference to the sound, but—after much hemming and hawing—I went with the medium-sized matte silver chimes.

The length of the tubes produce the perfect notes for a peaceful environment. This medium size wind chime is perfect for our garden. Smaller wind chimes have slimmer and shorter tubes that make higher pitched sounds that are not as relaxing as the mellow tones this Freedom Chime makes. Larger wind chimes sound great but usually need a location that has stronger wind to work.Wind chimes don't only need to look nice. The sounds that they produce are more important for me. This product is a combination of simple design and carefully tuned pipes. Its medium size makes it easier to find the best place to hang.Our garden is where we find peace after a hectic day. The mellow sounds of this wind chime enhances the zen-like environment that we desire. I haven't had a wind chime in our garden for so many years and I'm so glad we have this one now. I am pleased with this product.

I grew up with wind chimes around me and love listen to them. I absolutely love these Freedom chimes. My family and I spend a lot of evenings outside and listening to the wind chimes is very soothing and calming.I ordered the black ones. They arrive in a beautiful box that make them easy to give as a gift but I promise once you hear the soothing sound that they make you will want to keep them. They measure about 29” from the hanging ring to the bottom of them. There are 6 aluminum tubes that hang from it. The wind chime is made of good quality material and is well put together. They will definitely last you a long time. They are very eye pleasing and have a beautiful tone. The best thing is depending on how hard the wind is blowing you get a different tone. I have begun to collect various wind chimes over the last couple of years and these ones were appealing to me because of their simplicity in design. I keep my wind chimes all indoors. This one went in our bedroom because it matches my and overall furniture colors. It makes such a relaxing noise when the fan is on or there is a breeze and the window is open. When I burn incense and these chimes are humming it is so easy to just peacefully drift away into my imagination. I love that the strings for the chimes are all sturdy and I'm not at all leery of any one of them breaking. Also the music coming from then isn't a loud overbearing sound, just enough to cancel out background noises, it's perfectly in tune and the bamboo it's made out of is quite strong! I love that it is made with some recycled materials, I knew recycling could make some cool things, but was amazed to learn even wind chimes can be produced.* I received this product at a discount for my fair and honest review

First thing I was very impressed with the way the chimes were packaged. The packaging made me feel like I spent some serious money, but didn’t. Second the chimes were very nice quality. Third once I hung my chimes up the sound was incredible and magical it reminded me of my childhood. This is my second Brooklyn Basix chime my first was purchased over a year ago and it’s still in very nice condition considering the Texas weather. Now I can sit outside and listen to my Brooklyn Basix Chimes in stereo.
