Excellent for precise work.
The $16 dollars or so I spent on this kit made the construction of a difficult and complex part much easier, and saved me days of frustration. I had to make a precise dome for an optical shutter by forming leaves of 'cinefoil' over a small plastic ball as a form, then stretching a nylon stocking over this to hold it all in place. I went through many attempts using slow cure epoxy and all failed except the last ones using the kit. Each attempt destroying a plastic ball. With this I was able to keep everything tight, apply a small amount of epoxy, cure it and then repeat insuring everything stayed in place for the tight tolerances I need. Since the epoxy that seeps between the aluminum leaves and ball does not get exposed to UV the entire part was easily removed, then cured on the underside, leaving me reusable plastic balls for future projects. My experience is five stars in regards to my project needs. I can't address anything about it's quality for arts and crafts. It does tend to be a little sticky, but I put the parts in the sun for 2 minutes the next day and there is no stickiness at all.

This stuff is amazing!
The media could not be loaded. This is my first time using UV resin and I love it! I followed the directions to a t and made this experiment pendant. I first did a small layer of resin and added gold leaf. Then I dried it for 2 minutes. Then I did another layer with glitter. Dried for 2 minutes and did one more layer of glitter and gold leaf just playing around. Dried perfect each time and I remembered to flip it over and dry that back too. It turned out beautiful and fully cured. There weren't many bubbles at all! It says to pour very close to the mold and I did that each time. I didn't need to warm the bottle in hot water. It's so easy! The resin does have a bit of an odor so I cracked a window open a tiny bit. This was a perfect starter kit and there is a lot of resin! The lamp works great! You can't charge it and have to plug it in to your own brick. The mat is great and so are the cups and stir sticks. It wasn't messy at all. I never got any on my fingers. I highly recommend this! I see people angry about the lamp being small but it works great so who cares. I actually like it small because I don't have much room on my desk. I'm excited to play around some more and I'll post more pictures later. It's so fun and easy and makes beautiful jewelry. I'll never use epoxy resin for jewelry again! Follow the simple directions and you will make great pieces.

A good UV resin starter kit, good value for all that's included
Thus far, this seems like a good little starter kit. I was actually surprised at the amount of resin this kit came with, as well as a curing light and the other items. I thought about dropping a star because the first few items I made were fairly sticky after curing. A bit of searching led me to believe it's common for this brand of UV resin, BUT I re-cured the pieces submerged in water (a tip I found in my searches), and then let them rest for a day, and the stickiness was gone. Overall, I'm pleased with the value. I will say that the cord for the light is VERY short (around 2 ft), but who doesn't have an extra cord (or 20?) hanging around?

Decent Starter Set for Beginners
The Resin:The amount of resin is perfect for beginners or people who won't use much. The bottles do say they expire within a year. It's also clear as advertised. The LampThe lamp is really tiny. Which is fine for small jewelry and tiny miniatures. The lamp is very annoying because the max time it will stay on is 150sec while the instructions say to leave it on for 4min.The power cord is short.Tackiness and Hardness:Everything was slightly tacky despite being under the lamp for the max recommended time and only having a very thin layer of resin. Not tacky enough to leave fingerprints though. It's slightly tacky even if I 5x the time. What worked better was placing it in direct bright sunlight outside for the same amount of time. That eliminated the tackiness and increased the hardness.Overall, I'm glad I got to try out resin with this purchase.

Excellent resin, fun and effortless to use
I've never used UV resin before and wanted to try it. The resin is easy with virtually no learning curve, so long as you don't apply it to something which inhibits its curing. It's important to realize that it is only supposed to be applied in extremely thin layers, which can be "stacked" upon once the prior layer has cured. In other words, you don't want to fill a large mold like a 1" sphere or something, because it isn't going to cure. You can, however, put a thin layer of approximately 1/8", cure it, then add another. I haven't dared to try anything more dense than an 1/8" layer due to the things I've read in general about UV resin, so your mileage may vary. Ultimately I think this stuff is good for minor repairs, glossing up surfaces on other resins, "tacking" objects in place on other resins (for example, if you're doing a multi-layered pour), or making small objects like jewelry and keychains, etc. The included lamp doesn't stay on very long (2 minutes 30 seconds at longest, I believe) so you'll probably need to activate it multiple times.Tip: don't partially cure something then cover it in more resin and expect it to cure quickly. When I did this, I ended up needing to run the light for about 10 minutes. If the resin is the least bit tacky or has any odor whatever it isn't cured. Also, I recommend placing the light as close as physically possible without it actually touching the resin, as this will be both quicker and more efficient. Overall, I recommend this product for small crafts and find it quite fun - especially since it lacks the cleanup needed after using regular resin. This one is just a pour-and-go type thing with no mixing or cleanup, which I appreciate for times when I have the itch to create but not the energy to get a regular resin ready and then clean it up.
