This Little Live Pets, scruff a luvs sew surprise is very cute, a great idea in principle, but for me a little bit too expensive for what it is. You get 1 pet, be it a cat or a dog, and you won’t know until you’ve washed the ball of fur (as shown in the photo) in warm soapy water and the animal will be revealed. My 5yo was so excited when I gave her this as she had seen the advert for them on tv. She washed the pet as was pleased she got a pink dog. You do have to rinse the toy really well otherwise there are still some crusty parts on the toy (I’ve tried to show this is the photo with the hair). The toy took forever to dry naturally (it does say you can dry with a hairdryer, and to be honest it probably would fluff up better using a hairdryer but with todays electricity prices I wasn’t going to waste it on drying a pink dog). You get a brush, some sunglasses, a load of stickers, and the sewing machine. The stickers are just for decoration and can be placed anywhere you want on the sewing machine, or anywhere else you choose ie. A notebook, pencil case etc. the three sewing reels that are sat oj top of the sewing machine correspond with the drawers on the side of the sewing machine. You take one off, place it on the part of the sewing machine and turn it. This then makes one of the side drawers move and inside reveals and item of clothing for your pet. Each reel does the same thing and reveals a different drawer with a different item of clothing. Now don’t get me wrong, this is a great idea in principle, but once you’ve used the reels to get the clothes out that’s kind of it. The sewing machine becomes redundant and my daughter will play dress up with the dog, but she hasn’t used the sewing machine since she used the reels to get the clothes out. The box does state 10 surprises, but we couldn’t work out what all ten surprises were to be honest? So that was a little confusing. The dog itself is very cute, even if it’s a little scruffy looking despite having a brush. I kind of think for the money it’s a little expensive. I mean once the animal is revealed and the clothes out the sewing machine the novelty has kind of worn off and then it just becomes anothe soft toy with clothes on.

When my daughter was younger, she was mad about anything and all Little Live Pets, so its definitely a trusted brand and one I am well aware of that offers quality toys and that are made to last. Today its all about Surprise Toys and where they are certainly not cheap, they do have that element of excitement attached before unboxing just a toy to be played with. This Sew Surprise toy is more than just bag reveals. Here there is the sewing machine reveal as well as the pet and accessories reveal. It all starts with a ball of fluff …. Will it be a puppy or will it be a kitten…. This will be revealed while having a ‘bath’ in warm soapy water and then towel dried and groomed with a hair dryer. What is next … ‘Sewn’ accessories are revealed when the drawer pops open after twisting a coloured spool. Further accessories are included in the box as well as stickers to decorate the sewing machine. Comes in bright cute packaging. Includes very good step by step instructions which have no complication for young children to get bored with. It is a straightforward, simple but quick and easy set up. A huge hit for my little granddaughter and my 13-year-old had just as much fun I suspect😊 and they both reaaalllly wanted it to be a puppy and I had to breathe a sigh of relief when it was indeed… A Puppy revealed! The cutest puppy I might add - 5 Stars All Round - Love it.

This is the first scruff a luvs toy my granddaughter has had. She helped to wash it but had to go home before it was dry, so arrived very excited to play with it today. The sewing machine with hidden drawers that open depending on which spool is used, was great fun and she dressed the dog then put the accessories in different drawers. The dog has a patch of hair on the top of the head but some came out on combing. The clothes are quite thin material but fit the toy well and are easy for a young child to put on and off. £29.58 is quite pricey but the sewing machine can be used for storing small things.

These are absolutely adorable and my six year old loved giving it a "bath" and finding out if it was going to be a boy or a girl!!!!! The only thing that I did not like is that it took FOREVER to dry but aside from that we had a fun time bathing it and dressing it up! The packaging was adorable!!!
