My little Malti-zhu has a lot of hair in her ears and this tool is quick and effective. It's so easy to use that she doesn't even flinch. Good product.

I have tried to pull the hair from my puppy's ears with my hands and tweezers. She didn't like it and wouldn't let me get near her ears. I also ordered the powder and with the hemostat I was able to get a good grip on most of hair and pull a good chunk of hair. She didn't seem to mind my doing it either. The only downfall, when the hemostat locks in place so to loosen you have to take your fingers out of handle.

First time pulling dog hair on a Maltese. Hard to see the canal so much white. Dog sat still (trained for eye care) but the locking mechanism made it hard to pull fast. I watched a youtube video where the groomer put the ear hair on the dog's back for easy, fast removal and removal of waste from the ear. It made it go much faster. I nipped him a tiny bit when I saw the pink ear (no bleeding but a little yelp). He let me continue until done. I bought with gold dog ear powder which I had to sprinkle with my fingers in. I did one ear today. Last week I did hair pulling with my finger on the other ear because I needed to remove debris from ear infection. I removed hair with my fingers. I prefer the tool. I am going to purchase/and try without the locking mechanism because it locked up 3 times and I had to hold the dog down while unlocking. Faster with tool then fingers. Good purchase.
