Can't be beat for the price
I had previously had a pair of valeo mesh gloves and they lasted me around 4+ years of frequent, 3+ lifting days a week, usage. So i decided why change a good thing. I opted for a more supportive glove this time around and settled on the Valeo ocelot gloves because of the combination of price and features. When i first received them they were a little stiff, but that's to be expected from a leather glove. They fit great and I immediately noticed the extra padding and nice quality leather. The top part is fabric so your hands don't get sweaty and the glove maintains more mobility. The wrist straps are definitely improved from the previous generation glove I had, they are more secure and wider and as a result made the glove feel like it was staying on better. I've been using the gloves for about a month now and I have to say that I am really impressed. For the price I don't think i can recommend a better pair of lifting gloves. The leather wore in great and I get a more comfortable feeling when lifting weights. They aren't as light weight as my old mesh ones but for the extra support that's a small price to pay. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because one of the seams next to my wrist came a little undone. Not sure how as it is in a place that doesn't affect me putting the gloves on or taking them off. This may have just been a one time fluke (maybe it got caught on something). Maybe check around to see if anyone else had this problem, but when i bought these gloves i never noticed any reviews complaining of this so i think it may just be my gloves. Either way it's in an area that doesn't affect anything so i kept the gloves and they are holding up just great otherwise. I would really highly recommend these gloves to anyone looking for an everyday mid level lifting glove, they will hold up well because of the leather, and offer a great amount of support with a good fit.

Not for big hands
At the hospital, I can put on size 11 surgical gloves and be comfortable. These are not small, but they are not XL. I am 6'4, 230 pounds. My fingers are the biggest that will fit comfortably. Not too bad around the hands, but not XL.That said, they seem well constructed. I am rep'ing on the bench around 204 (bar is 44, go figure) and the weight is well absorbed. A dog bit me years ago on my right hand, so sometimes the bar hits it (more like push ups or dips). I got these gloves because my GF wanted smooth hands. I know, I know but she lets me have a bench in my office, so I got these gloves.

Good weightlifting gloves
I've been using these for a few weeks and am happy with them. I measured my hand to be 8.5-8.75" and ordered XLarge based on the sizing chart. They are a good fit. Not great, but good. If anything, they might be a tad large, but that's mostly solved with the adjustable velcro strap. The only serious drawback I've noticed is that when I bench-press, the left glove pinches my skin between my thumb and index finger. It's not so bad that I can't lift or I'd want to go back to lifting without the gloves. And, I don't get the pinching with other lifts. But, it's annoying and part of the reason I'm giving 4 stars.Otherwise, I really like these gloves. I use them with free weights and feel that my grip is better and I can focus more on the strength exercise. Without gloves, I had to concentrate more on gripping the weight. And, my hands would hurt somewhat after lifting without the gloves. As others have noted, the padding is great for gripping unpadded rods and bar. All the weights I use are unpadded (just a textured metal rod) and I find the glove padding helpful. I wouldn't want to use these with a padded rod or bar as I think that they would not improve grip in that case.

Durable, quality product
In the last couple years, I became a more active weightlifter after years of on-again, off-again efforts, with some multi-year hiatuses. My 1980s vintage gloves worked for a while, but started to wear at pressure points, which gave me callouses and made pull-ups and curls feel unpleasant. It was time for a new pair.I researched replacement gloves extensively on Amazon. I loved the terry cloth interior and cowhide padded exterior of my old gloves, and wanted something similar, but of better quality construction, with a more classic look.I ended up being so happy with these new gloves at my office gym, that I bought a second pair for my home gym. These gloves are:(1) Extremely well-made: The stitching is tight and the spandex-like, perforated fabric on top moves and breathes. After about 6 months of active use, the gloves show very limited signs of wear, with some buckling of the fingertips when they're not in use. (When I wear them, the fingertips cinch up nicely.)(2) Comfortable: The terry cloth lining feels like a second skin, absorbs moisture, and dries quickly.(3) Functional: Even in hard-driving workouts, the padding does its job extremely well.(4) Stylish: The tan leather and black nylon/terry cloth look great together. These gloves have exceeded my expectations, and I expect to get many more years of use out of them.

Good quality gloves
These are good quality leather gloves. Some things worth noting are that they are 3/4 finger gloves and will push material down to your palm when you grip something. The 3/4 design is more protective though and will leave more skin on your fingers for the heavier lifts. The stitching looks high quality. The fabric looks high quality. The glove feels good.I give it four stars because it is a very little bit over padded for a 3/4 finger glove. I feel like there is just a small bit too much padding when I pick up weight. A Great buy though with no regrets.UPDATE: Today marks one year of high intensity bodybuilding with this product. Here's the downlow: They are still great and no stitching is falling out. I've actually rubbed part of the elastic web away, but I could easily get another 6-10 months out of these. If they are your style, don't even blink about it, they last!

Good leather lifting gloves; though not as substantial as they used to be!
I had a pair of Ocelot lifting gloves from two decades back that just developed a rip in one of the thumbs. They were phenomenally good; still are for some lifts. These new ones look similar, but are somewhat less substantial; nevertheless, they seem better than some others with higher rating on Amazon.

Too small
Tried the large and they were too small so back they went. Quality looked good overall however.

feels like plastic and bleeds colour
Thumb hole disproportionately big. Leather is thin, stiff, feels like plastic and bleeds colour. There is a thick bump where two pieces of leather meet along the top of the thumb right where the bar rests for push exercises and it hurts like hell. Will be using these for pull days only.
