If we buy 2 boxes for two boys, do they contain matching toys on each day or are the placements random?

The contents are likely the same but not necessarily the same each day. That means, they may both open the first day of the advent calendar on day 1, but get different Pops. But on a different day of the advent calendar, they may get the same Pop. It's a little random in that way.

Is it a vinyl pop for each day?

There are 24 vinyl pop figures. 1 a day for 24 days.

Wondering how many look too Xmas-y? I like character with a bit of Xmas, but not complete snowman stormtroopers

They are all pretty Christmas-y and/ or winters.

Why are some compartments empty inside? That seems unfair and like a ripoff from what I am reading on the lowest reviews!

If a compartment doesn't have anything in it, it's is likely that the bag fell into another compartment or a different compartment may have 2 characters in one bag. That's my experience

Much better than the Marvel one!

I got this one for a friend and Marvel version for me....I'm super jealous of this one, lol! The Marvel one has lots of repeat figures and kinda lazy on the holiday theme - but this one is good Star Wars fun. I didn't know I would like a snowman version of Darth Maul so much. Good variety of figures and fun takes on holiday theme. I think this one is worth the purchase price!
