More than impressed
I haven't written many reviews for products, though I've been an Amazon customer for many years, but every once in a while a product is purchased that exceeds my expectations by such a degree, that I find it worth my time to place a review. This would be one of those products.I've been a police officer for approximately 20 years for a large department. Throughout the years, I have purchased different products to help improve the way I do my job. I've been waiting patiently to see if my department would acquire body cameras, and I reached a point where I didn't want to wait any longer. After doing extensive research through Amazon and online, I kept coming back to this camera. The relatively large number of positive reviews kept drawing me back even though I had never heard of the brand. When a coworker purchased the camera, and I got to hold it in my hands, I felt that it was made with quality and durability and warranted a purchase.I've used the camera for approximately 1 week and already I can say with certainty this camera has helped me immeasurably. The reports I'm required to document are more accurate, I have more evidence to present, and it provides a level of transparency to the public that will hopefully begin to instill trust. The packaging of the camera was better than I expected. Inside of the box was the camera equipped with a well-made rotatable clip, a second epaulet clip which I doubt I'll use, a docking station, a USB cable which plugs from the dock to a computer, a wall plug which can connect to the USB to plug into a 110 wall plug, and a cigarette adapter so the camera can be charged while in the vehicle.Upon removing the camera from the box, the quality is immediately noticeable. Made of rugged plastic and rubber, I have no doubt this camera will continue to function even if dropped. I haven't dropped mine, and hope not to, but I'm confident little would happen if I did. The clip that was equipped to it is also high quality. The clip can rotate 360 degrees, clicking every 30 degrees or so, and has a good spring and teeth built into the clip to keep it secured throughout the day. I have not had the camera move once or fall off while using it, due to the excellent securement. The size of the camera is a little larger than a GoPro and is at the maximum of what I would consider an acceptable size. The weight of the camera I have found to be a non-issue.When I was looking for a camera, the size, quality, weight, resolution, and importantly, the battery all were considered. The camera itself is also great. In order to limit how much data it's using, I keep the camera on the second to lowest setting. The resolution options are as follows:720x480848x480 30p848x480 60p1280x720 30p1280x720 60p1440x1080 30p1920x1080 30p2304x1296 30pI find that even at the second to lowest setting, the quality is excellent for what I need. The video isn't grainy, I can clearly read license plates, see ID's, etc. I don't find it necessary to go to a higher resolution.Audio is also excellent. There is a built in microphone that picks up audio amazingly well. Even with traffic going by at freeway speeds, I can clearly hear what people are telling me on playback. I do recommend playing the content back on a computer with earbuds to get it even more clear, but I'm definitely not disappointed in the microphone. The camera also has a speaker that can play back content on the LCD screen located on the back of the device. This speaker is plenty loud, and I have to keep it at one of the lower settings. The 2" TFT-LCD screen is also great. I didn't think I'd use it, but I have found myself playing back traffic stops upon completion to double check what someone told me and it's been extremely useful. On the right side of the device are four buttons. The bottom button starts and stops video recordings, the button above takes pictures, the button above records audio only, and the top button flags files as important. On the left side of the drive are a USB port, Mini HDMI port, AV port, and Out port for a headset.I've utilized the camera option a couple of times and don't find it as impressive as the video. That may be as a result of the resolution I have it set at. When photos are needed, I'll reach for my cell phone, take the shot(s), upload the images to my work, and remove them from my phone. It's hard to beat the resolution of modern cell phones, and this camera I don't find to be comparable. Again, that is likely due to the resolution I have it set at. I don't want to have to switch from one resolution to another as I switch between video and images, so I'll likely not use the camera function. As far as the audio only, I haven't used that option yet. But based on the microphone recordings of video, I have no doubt the audio only will be excellent.Battery life has been great. They claim that you can record 10 consecutive hours. That's a claim I cannot confirm nor deny. I tend to power on the device prior to making a traffic stop, and turn it off at the conclusion of the stop. As such, I'm making the battery last longer. I have had it on for periods of over an hour at a time and I saw I had plenty of battery left at the end of shift. So I believe this camera's battery will more than suffice for my needs.Uploading the data off of the camera is extremely easy. Place the camera on the dock, plug it into a computer, and it recognizes the camera as an external hard drive. Simply play the videos directly, or drag them onto the hard drive of your computer. Also, when reviewing video footage directly on the 2" screen, there is an option to delete individual files or all of them. This makes it nice when you've transferred your videos to your computer and want to wipe them off of the camera. When I consider what I paid for the camera and how beneficial it's been already, this purchase is a no brainer. My only regret is I didn't buy it sooner. I'll provide updates on this product as I continue to use it to see if it remains reliable or becomes defective, but so far, I couldn't be happier.

Excellent
Excellent body cam at a good price. The wife and I both have one (for about two years now) and they work flawlessly.

Good Bodycam Overall
It's a good camera overall and as a security guard it helps me immensely, even passively. Folks are less inclined to act a fool or try to lie about how I interacted with them when they see I can record our interaction with a push of a button (many think it's already recording when I approach). For this reason, I love the stealth recording feature, where you can goto the settings menu and have all the activation tones and blinking lights silenced when turning the camera on or when it's actively running.I love the fact that it has a screen so you can playback an incident in the field, so you can show management or police right there on the scene. It helps immensely with report writing as well, being able to re-watch an incident as it unfolds will help you to remember all the little details.Memory capacity is excellent and will get you through a long shift unless you're an action hero like John Wick.Images are crystal clear upon playback, everything is real smooth.I do have a few complaints about the camera....1) The camera angle seems to be angled way too high, I have to place the camera way down near my stomach in order to capture the whole person that I'm interacting with, otherwise the camera captures too much of the sky and indoor ceilings. If I place it up near my collarbone, that's all I'm gonna get is sky and ceiling.2) The clip does a good job of staying on your uniform so long as you're stationary or walking. But if you're running, jumping, diving for cover, grappling with a suspect or any other bumptious activity the clip is simply ineffective, the entire camera (top and bottom) needs to be augmented with magnets along with the clip.3) I wish the sound playback was louder. If there is a even a modicum of ambient noise around when trying to view video playback, you're going to need headphones or retreat to a quiet place to hear what was said.4) Battery life: I go out everyday with a full charge and keep the camera off until I need it (not in standby mode) and still this thing seems to gobble up power like nobody's business. If I have to use the camera 3 or 4 times in one shift, the thing is on fumes by the time I get home. This thing needs to be constantly hooked up to a power source to get the best performance out of it.*** Update Jan 2021***Turns out the initial unit I had, the battery was defective, the manufacturer was kind enough to send me a replacement free of charge. I've been using it everyday for work and the camera battery is a solid workhorse. I keep the camera in stand by mode all day and she will run for 10.5 hours straight. She will also record for hours if you need to without issue. I had an incident at work that dragged on for hours this camera was up to the task. The things that will run the battery down quick are constantly watching playback on the view screen on the rear side of the camera and utilizing the night vision mode (when the camera is in very low light conditions). I purchased a second power cord and use a power pack to recharge the device if I need to when in the field. And I love how I can still use the camera while charging it at the same time.**** Update Feb 2023 *****The body camera is still soild gold, a real work horse. However the most infuriating thing is the poor sound playback on the unit itself, you can barely hear what is being said unless the subject(s) are yelling. You basically have to hold the body camera up to your ear to hear what is being said. However the sound quality is excellent when you hook it up to a PC or TV for playback. My point is this unit sorely needs a headphone jack.****** Update Feb 2025 ******I'm now using the version of the camera that uses the type "C" charging port and I absolutely love it! Now I don't have to carry around two different type of charging cords for my cellphone and body camera. What's more they finally fixed the audio problem (albeit still missing a headphone jack), now the speaker is a lot louder. The battery is phenomenal a real work horse. The internal clock is excellent as well, it keeps VERY good time, not running fast or slow. My co-worker just purchased one after I demonstrated mine.
