DEL Ozone DELMCD50U13 120-240V Spa Mini JJ Cord CD High Output Ozonator

This is the second one I've purchased. I could tell when the first one stopped working because my hot tub water was oddly and suddenly no longer easy to maintain. Once I found out this was the culprit and had reached the end of its life, I was more than happy to buy another one. If your hot tub happens to have the right plug-in, it's a pretty easy install. But if it doesn't, it takes knowing what you're doing to install (get professional advise or hire someone so you know it's done right).

Supposedly these can last 5 years. This one didn't make it to 2 years. Sad

Replaced an outdated alternate brand ozonator for my 400 gallon hot tub, so far the water had remained crystal clear after several uses and I have only had to add a 1/2 of Sanitizer every month, prior I would have to add a regiment of additives to the water to maintain the water. Even if you had to replace this every other year it would be worth it, HUGE DIFFERENCE! (I had the AMP style plug, just opened the box and swapped pigtails)

I was a little confused at first that my old ozone generator had several internal parts and this one was all solid state. I was worried it wouldn’t work as well. So far so good though. As far as longevity, only time will tell.

Came with all of the components and instructions needed and was so simple to install.

It worked very well, but now it's time to replace the ozone cell, and unfortunately, the MCD-50 Ozone Renewal Kit 09-0743-01 had been discontinued, and I could not find any explanation or substitute. Ergo one star. BTW, to get the maximum performance out of MCD-50, I send the water with ozone bubbles through a coil of 100 feet of flexible pipe, and then through Jandy Mixing Degas Vessel to remove the bubbles before returning the water to the hot tub. The rationale for the coil is that the ozone half-life in water is in minutes, so the bubbles need more time in the water than they get in typical installations where they just bubble out. My arrangement works very well, compared to my previous installation that did not have the coil.

Bought this in late September and it died December 1. Worked great at first and then slowly degraded until dead.
