Do the connectors require the pipe ends to be flared first?

Hi, yes the brake pipe needs to be flared both sides of the union. If, like me, you are repairing a brake line whilst still fitted to the vehicle the common flaring tool won’t be suitable due to space. I used B08N3ZH438 from Amazon which allowed me to fit in a tight space. Still tricky, but I got there in the end. Hope that helps. Good luck
